Q: Please, I need some opinions. My marriage is possibly over. Over something so stupid. Help, please?
My husband who was worried about heart problems went today to get his results of various tests. He’s been on antidepressants, now on his second one. He took one and he didn’t think it helped so the dr gave him cymbalta 30mg then upped it to 60mg. He was an ass around the time he changed (really bad). So now he’s taking 60 and today the doc told him to continue. Luckily he’s not dying w/heart problems. I was so relieved and happy when he came by my work and told me. But here’s the stupid thing that happened. I commented on the antidepressants that when he changed it affected his moods in a bad way. I didn’t cut down the doctor or contradict him in any way. I just added that. He went off on me. He told me I wasn’t a doctor and I didn’t know everything like I thought I did. He left, said he was getting his meds and going home.

Well he didn’t. He wouldn’t answer his phone, then when he finally did he was still irate and yelling at me, calling me Dr. ****our last name being a total smart arse jerk! I was so upset.

We’ve been fighting over this and I told him I would leave him if he had this little respect for me. He told me I should just keep my thoughts to myself! Obviously meaning he doesn’t want to hear my opinion. It really hurts. I think he hates me and he thinks I’ll just shut up and obey him. I told him if he didn’t like me being me it is over! I think this is the stupidest thing to fight about and he won’t be nice. I apologised for offending him but I swear I didn’t say anything that SHOULD have offended him. I even wrote him a very to the point letter explaining my intentions and how much I love him and how stupid this is. I really love him but doubt he loves me or he wouldn’t treat me this way.

He’s in the living room right now playing his little online ps3 games! Socializing and having a ball. I’m in the bedroom still about to explode with rage! Am I overreacting to want to bail. He’s shown lack of respect over stupid stuff before. I work and bring home the bacon. He stays home and has a free life. Am I expecting too much to not get yelled at and hated over bs like this?????

Well, if nothing else thanks for letting me rant about it. I’ve got to do something to get it out. he won’t talk or listen.

A: Well your right about a few things. I’m on meds and have been for 2yrs now since I was told I had cancer. This baby ass bitch needs to keep his F-CKING mouth shut. The meds he is on will change his mood swings and he should read the reactions of the medication before opening his pie-hole. I’ve been on many different meds over the last 2 yrs and I appreciate any input my wife gives me when they get changed around. There was a 5 day period when I was on one med when I don’t remember anything for 5 days at all and my wife said I was a complete Ass H-le when I was on them. After she took me off of that drug, it wasn’t until then that things were starting to go back to normal for me. You may want to contact his doctor without your husband knowing about it and tell the doctor what has been happening. If you love your husband, hang in there and wait to see what happens. If you don’t, it’s your choice as what to do. I’m very grateful my wife was there to see the changes and do something about it on her own. She took the meds away from me and got rid of them.

Q: Diabetic with Neuropathy-please help!!!?
I am a 21 year old diabetic with neuropathy in my legs, arms, feet, fingers, toes. I am a type 1 diabetic, I have a good diet, sugar is under control, and I also have Gastroparesis. I have had neuropathy for a while now, and I have tried many medications, such as amitriptyline, cymbalta, tremadal, lyrica, topomax, and I went to the neurologist today, and he says there is no other methods or medications they can give me. They won’t give me narcotics because of my age (which is ok because I don’t want to take them really) and he says there is not much else they can do for me. However, he did suggest me to go online and see what other people are using, so I am surfing the web now and to come back in and talk to him about it. He was very nice about it. So my real question would be how are other people dealing with the pain of neuropathy? I am in a lot of pain, numbness, tingling, burning, and sometimes a very “wet” feeling, and sometimes I even need to walk with a cane. It gets pretty bad, and I am not sure what else to do. Thanks to anyone who can help!
I am sorry, I meant to mention I also used neurontin and that did not work either, and my insurance company won’t cover the patches

A: Ask your doctor to try 40 mg. of methylcobalamin (B12) it may restore nerve function. I know it is massive dosage of this vitamin but have heard that it really helps.I BELIEVE IT IS INJECTABLE..

Take care , and If I was you I would take Tramadol. It is Non-addictive if taken in normal doses. There is no excuse for you to have so much pain. Pain management should be your doctors main priority, then the treatment of neuropathy.

Tin

Q: Please…help me…I have nothing left (this isn’t attention seeking)?
Hi….er I am 19 years old, I quit work last year….after taking my second overdose of all these pills, what happened was I left high school in 2008 graduating with a Higher School Certificate of a UAI score of 49.70%, I happened to stumble across an apprentice chef job 1st year last year of 2009 which I am technically a second year now even though I am not working, I still do TAFE part time on Mondays 8 to 5, and also I do Australian Air Force Cadets it is my last year at cadets because I turn 20 years old and you have to leave or you can join as a Cadet Staff Member, I got bullied and picked on at high school and primary school, I had a few friends etc, so obviously I have trust issues, people continue to this day to treat me like shit, I overdosed last September of 09 and actually admitted to having a mental illness after many many years, I don’t even remember being normal and here I have my mother and father who split up when I was 6 and he remarried a Macedonian women who fights with my father and is crazy, I got subjected to Domestic violence along with my sister since Primary and to have all my family members neglect me, including my mother, he had kids with Lenka and they are crazy in the head because of all the domestic violence they got put through when they were babies along with me and my sister, moving along I went out with this girl first time ever to go out with someone, I thought I might try a girl who I met on the internet, which I am or used to be an internet addict which I resorted to virtual reality to make friends that all backfired on me, until I met Tamika she was nice at first, then I eventually found out her true self, she eventually dumped me through a text message on a mobile phone, then moving on straight away, I overdosed on 48 panadol, got put in Hospital, then after that another overdose of 68 tablets of Panadol and quitting my job in the Cafe I worked because I also got subjected to a huge amount of bullying and abuse as an apprentice chef, terrified of my boss who would always talk about sex and treat me like shit, not give me any time for anything not even for the doctors, so…..I still felt suicidal and like shit so I overdosed on all these pills aspirin, panadol, my antidepressants at the time, over this period of time I have accounted for over 280 pills I have taken, resulting in 6 or more stays at Hospital in various places, moving along I do see a social worker at the community health center I ditched my psychologist because her cognitive behavior therapy wasn’t helping me even though I was seeing her for about a couple of months, now I don’t see anyone the GP’s I have been to, have ditched me or walked out, or said very unsympathetic things like “I don’t feel sorry for you”, “Do it then, overdose etc”, I went to a club last year called Westclub where it deals in Mental Health recovery, I am now currently seeing a man much older than me about 34 who has a mental illness himself, we have been going out for five weeks, but like a tangled mess such as the girls I was talking to online and all that crap, I have just found out that he….now that I removed my relationship status on facebook, I haven’t seen him since….last week, and now I get told from someone else he is seeing someone else from a third party resource, he is a heavy addict on drugs and alcohol and cannot stop even though it upsets me, I try to help….I don’t know…, I stayed over a friends place who has multiple personality disorder last night..

And I just cannot deal with this, I have been of my medication for ages now, the medication history I do have was Celapram, Lexapro,Cymbalta then it was Lovan 20mg then 30mg which I stopped taking because it was making me suicidal.

And now…I will end it, I want to overdose on cold and flu tablets.

No matter what people say or do, I really….hate this world so much.

I have never been an attention seeker.

I just wish….things turned out better…. oh well.

I guess I will end it eventually.

I hate my life.

And there is nothing left.
By the way the Hospital and various Mental Health Professionals have just thought I was an “angry girl”, or “Sexually frustrated”, or a naughty girl, just thought I has anxiety and depression, except I get manic episodes.
I know I sound like a loser…but I just have had enough….this is for real, even in cadets even though I am a Warrant Officer, I…..still got bullied…and tormented in the brain.

A: I’m sorry you have had such a hard life and are feeling so low.
If you identify you think you are having “manic” extremities to your mood, might it be worth looking at a complete re-evaluation of your mood problems,by an open minded Therapist and maybe get the correct meds and diet sorted for Bipolar Disorder, if you have this in conjunction with any other mental health problem?
There are some Professionals out there, very willing to look at people with a fresh unbiased attitude.

Q: is there any government program that will help pay my psychiatrist and medicines??
i have to pay out of pocket for my psychiatrist,($100/30 min) and then im prescribed Cymbalta which he gave me samples for a month but then i see there is no generics so i have to pay full price which i saw online is about $120 for a month supply!!! Is there any govt program that I can get help with my bill?? I am 26 single mother…need help please.. Oh im in Texas….
im not eligible for medicaid cause i get $340 in child support and unemployed at the moment but even with the 340 is too much…i would have to be at $180 to qualify for medicaid…some b/s…but thanks i will be going to my local MHMR and maybe they can help out. thanks all
was on zoloft when i was 16…and lexapro 1-2 yrs ago…so i dont want to go back to them.

A: Yes. You need to check with your cities local “Mental Health” administrators. Look them up in the yellow pages. Also you should be able to call 411 and they should be able to get your to your cities local Mental Health Services. Even if you cannot get the services for free you should be able to get your psychiatric treatment on a sliding scale according to what you can actually pay. As far as your medication goes they too can help you find a way to pay for them. Call your local Mental Health Services and I am sure they will be glad to help you. Good luck!!!!

Q: Does Cymbalta cause weight gain?
My doctor prescribed me Cymbalta a little over a month ago. I have a friend that takes it and she has gained weight and thinks that it is from the medication. I read online some reviews and alot of people have claimed that it has caused them to gain weight, even 10 pounds per year. I am 5′1 and 113 pounds and have been afraid to take the medication because I don’t want to gain weight because it will make me even more depressed and with my size and shape I can’t afford to gain any weight. Does anyone have anything good to say about the medication involving no weight gain? Or anything else for that matter??

A: It can… all anti depressants have this side effect.

For more information check out: allergy medications today!

Q: What allergy medicine works best for you?
With the allergy season in full swing, I thought I’d get some suggestions flowing for allergy medications. Please tell us what you have tried, what you currently use (if any), what’s worked and what hasn’t worked, and the good and bad things about each one.. If possible, give both a brand name and a chemical/generic name.

Claritin/Loratadine – doesn’t work at all for me, but it’s supposed to be non-drowsy. It’s dirt cheap, however – if it works for you you can get a 28-day supply at a dollar store for $1 and it’s the exact same thing – even the same manufacturer.

Airborne Seasonal Relief – tastes NASTY! Not good if you’re on the go, as it takes a while for it to dissolve. It worked a little bit when the allergens weren’t too bad, for example in early spring.

Chlortrimetron/Chlorpheniramine Maleate – this is my #1 choice, and what I currently use! The package says it may cause drowsiness, but I haven’t noticed that. It works fast too.
Nki – You really should give chlorpheniramine maleat a try, it worked wonders for me! It’s over the counter, it’s a little yellow pill. The Wal-Mart brand is called Chlortabs, and it’s about $2 for 100 tablets. I didn’t discover this until I started working at a vet clinic – it’s safe for dogs too! If you have trouble finding it, ask a pharmacist to help you. It comes in a bottle like Tylenol intead of in the foil blister packs like a lot of other allergy medication. It lasts 4-6 hours, but there is also an 8 mg extended-release that works for up to 12 hours, but I’ve only seen it in the name brand or in gigantic bottles the vet orders from the medical supply catalog. Good luck, I hope it works for you!
Also, I’ve heard a lot of good about Elderberry concentrate for allergies…anyone ever tried it, did it work?

A: I use Allegra D. It is similar to Claritin D, but I can still get it by prescription so it is cheaper with my health insurance than buying the Claritin D OTC.

Rhinocort Aqua/budesonide nasal. A steroid based nasal spray. It doesn’t work right away. You have to give a squirt or two up each nostril once or twice a day till it starts working. It takes 3-7 days to take effect. After that I just do one squirt up each nostril in the morning and I am good to go. This stuff works GREAT. I highly recommend it.

The only problem I had was that I stayed on it for over 2 years straight and then I started getting nose bleeds. So now I use it only during my worst season (fall). I don’t have problems with nose bleeds any more.

Q: Any one know a lot about allergy medications?
Yeah, obviously, I have some questions.
I get allergies in the Springtime…I don’t really know exactly what I’m allergic to, but it’s pretty much something in the Springtime and gives me some of the worst headaches ever.

Anyway – I used to take Claritin-D for it. It dissolves on your tongue. That solved the runny nose and a few other issues, but does not get rid of the congestion. So I was thinking of learning how to take pills, so I can get a medicine that will solve congestion.

However, my mom says any decongestant will make me tired.
Is that true? If so, can I take it at night and still have it effective in the morning? I have P.E. first thing in the morning, soyeah. We’re normally outside so my allergies are worst at that time.

Also, would it be cheaper for me to get an allergy medication from my doctor? As a prescription?
I know Claritin-D’s roughly 30 bucks a box.

Thanks!

A: No, it’s not true that claritin makes you drowsy. Zyrtec is the one that makes you drowsy. Personally, I go you to the allergist and he usually gives me a nasal spray (nasonex) for my congestion, and Allegra-D for the rest of my symptoms. I haven’t had any allergies for a couple of years on these medications.

Q: Can you use other flea medications while using sentinel?
my vet gave my miniature dachshund sentinel tablets to take for fleas, heartworms, etc. but every summer, she is COVERED in fleas. She has a flea allergy, so the poor thing has red bumps all over her tummy and is scratching until they bleed. I’m also using a cheap flea collar and cheap flea medicine from walmart. but i was wondering if she could take any other flea medicines like advantix or anything else with sentinel so she doesnt have so many fleas
the only reason i use the flea collar and other medicine is because the sentinel is not doing its job

A: Yes you can use frontline or like you said k9 advantix while using the Sentinel..STOP the use of flea collars and OTC flea medication.. potentially harmful to your dog… but dont stop the Sentinel, continue with it as it is the heartworm preventative.
Discuss the flea preventative with your vet to see which one your pet should use.

OH, forgot to add, if you have already applied the OTC flea junk, you need to wait 30 days before you use the frontline or advantix.

We use Sentinel for our dogs + Frontline.
Our vet said we wouldnt need to use the frontline if we used Sentinel but but we live in the hoter side of oahu, hawai, and ticks like to come so we use the frontline for the ticks also(not only as an added protection to the fleas).

Q: And THIS is how you cut my health care cost?
So look at these new taxes.

Next year any health care benefits from you job are taxable income. So the average American will pay an additional income tax of about 21% (average) health insurance.

Limits on the amount you cam put into your tax exempt health care savings account to save for future medical expensive. So now you pay more income taxes and have less money saved for health care expensive. (Don’t have a major illness!)

We now have a new ban on using funds from flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements or health savings accounts for the cost of over-the-counter medications, starting in 2011. So you can’t use tax free money and buy any of the new allergy medications that have gone OTC. Instead you have to get the prescription meds that cost 4 times as much, or pay an average 21% tax penalty on the cheap medications-plus you still pay sales tax!

An increase in the amount necessary you have to spend in order to itemize your health care deductions. This will force that average American who has major medical bills to pay and additional $100 a year in income taxes.

And finally, If you spend more than they think you should on your insurance, thay are sticking you for an additional 40% tax in your insurance. On this one, the sky is the limit on how much you pay. So basically they are trying to make sure that no one can afford really good insurance!

So will some please explain to me how these specific laws CUT my health care costs?
Have you guys bothered to actually read ANY of the new law?
Elwood-One link comming up! Give me 2 min!
Sorry Elwood-it took longer than I thought. Slow connection today. Here is you r link!

http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/109234/health-care-reform-tax-hikes-on-the-way?mod=insurance-health

I ALWAYS can back up what I say. I was going to send it direct to you, but you do not allow anyone to have any way to contact you or see any of your history?
Why? Scared? Ashamed? What is the deal?
JW B-but while they wer forcing this law through agains the will of the majority of Americans-they were always talking about how peoples insurance was so expensive! thay talked all about how so many people are pay HUGH insurance premiums. WE all heard the stories of $1200+ a month insurance premiums!

A: It doesn’t. obama is the king of a manipulator. His teleprompter taught him to lie to american public. He is a liar is close enough to be a devil. he is so evil that God will struck him dead with eternal fire!

Q: Cheap Ontario Health Insurance?
I am a 21 year old female and pretty much what I am looking for is to get insured for my asthma meds ( today i bought them w/out insurance and they cost $440, the occasional allergy medication and birth control. I have researched companies and no one seems to offer birth control coverage at a reasonable rate! I don’t have too much money and I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that covered these things at a low rate!

Thanks!

A: It will be difficult to get insurance for asthma meds now that you have the condition. The best way is to work somewhere with a good group insurance. I realize that may not be possible for you.

Another alternative is to try Ontario’s Trillium program:

“The Trillium Drug Program (TDP) is intended for Ontario residents who have a valid Ontario Health Card and who have high prescription drug costs in relation to their net household income.

The TDP provides coverage for prescription drug products listed on the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary/Comparative Drug Index (Formulary) “

Hope that helps! link is below …

Q: How difficult is it to live with a cat when you have allergies?
I’m moving in with some new roommates next year and one of them has a brand new cat. My allergies are pretty much limited to itchy pallet, running nose watery eyes, nothing really severe, but not something I can live with untreated for the next couple of years.

I’ve spent a substantial amount of (overnight) time at houses with cats but their houses were most likely alot cleaner than what our house of 5 college students will quickly become. Benadryl also helped alot in those situations, but that isn’t something I can take everyday.

I’d love to hear opinions anyone has on daily allergy medication (claritin, reactine, allegra), or anything else you do to survive with your allergies. I work at a pharmacy and you don’t need a prescription for most extra strength allergy medications, as well I can get the generic medications for quite cheap compared to over the counter prices so taking pills everyday certainly isn’t out of the question.

A: Most allergy meds don’t treat “indoor” allergies, like cats and dust mites. They mostly treat allergies to pollens and outdoor issues.

Except Zyrtec. I take zyrtec for my cat allergies, and it is the only medication that has helped me against cats. I don’t get itchy skin, or runny nose or itchy eyes, and can actually pet a cat.

However (I married a man with a cat, and cant’ ask him to get rid of it, besides it kills mice) after a long time of LIVING with a cat (as opposed to being exposed at friend’s houses) I actually developed asthma. Even with the zyrtec, which controls any skin reactions I have, I now use an inhaler. I never needed one before. I am at the point now where even though my skin reaction is fine, my asthma gets worse every year. Being exposed to a cat that I am allergic to has compromised my immune system, and I may have to start taking an asthma preventative, instead of a rescue inhaler. I wouldn’t suggest living with a cat if you don’t have to. It’s really not worth it.

I am not sure if allergy shots are more successful, and can prevent the onset of asthma related to allergies. I haven’t tried the shot route yet, but it looks like I may. I wish we didnt have a mouse problem in our house, because I wouldn’t replace this cat when he passes away. The health issues just don’t seem worth it.

Q: What are some low cost, natural remedies for people who suffer sinus and allergies this time of year?
Im tired of spending hundreds of dollars on pharmacy and GP suggested medications for sinus and allergies. There must be a better, cheaper solution. Help!

A: I have seasonal allergies and I use a Saline nose spray from CVS. It’s pretty much salt water, and it completely flushes out your sinuses and gets rid of all the pollen that builds up and causes you to get colds, sinus infections, sore throats, etc. It’s only a few dollars, you don’t need a prescription, and if you use it once a day you’ll get immediate results. Hope that helps! My doctor reccomended it and it works wonders for me.

Q: where can I find a cheap medical bracelet?
My sister and I both need a medical bracelet, she is diabetic and I have allergy to a couple of different types of medication and I have an anxiety disorder, I have looked all over but I cannot find a decently priced medical bracelet, I am a ROTC cadet and so I do a lot of activities that I can easily get hurt at or have a major anxiety attack at. Both of our families has money problems and she along with diabetes suffers from Bi-polar, we both really need a very cheap but reliable and sturdy medical bracelet, is there anywhere, where we can get one?

A: The best place to buy a cheap medical bracelet is amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D19%26ref_%3Dnb%5Fsb%5Fnoss%26y%3D21%26field-keywords%3DMedical%2520Alert%2520Bracelet%2520%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Dhpc&tag=digitsy-marina-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Q: How do I convince my allergic mom to let me adopt a cat?
I know living with allergies is miserable, so I found two cat breeds that are good for allergy sufferers. The Devon Rex (short fur won’t spread as many allergens) and the Siberian Cat (has lower levels of allergens). I have also made a list of ways to reduce allergens, including: adopt a spayed female cat, vacuum with a HEPA filter, use HEPA air filters, don’t let the cat in her bedroom, bathe the cat weekly, groom daily, use allergen wipes, keep the cat off of furniture, use furniture covers, keep non perscription medications on hand, (they’re cheaper) reduce exposure to other allergens, and wash hands often. Any more ideas?
P.S. My mom will not take allergy shots. =^._.^=

A: Siberians are known to cause fewer allergies than most.

Convince her to go with you to the breeder’s home. If she does not have an attack there, she’ll be safe with one cat in a home that is kept clean.

Don’t count on keeping a cat off of the furniture. And by the way, long haired cats seem to cause fewer allergies than short-haired cats. Their dander stays trapped in the fur a little better, until it is brushed or washed.

Q: What’s in your medicine cabinet? No illegal drug answers please.?
What are the over-the-counter medications you absolutely can’t get along without? Mine are zinc oxide which heals sores, cuts, abrasions, etc. And it’s cheap. And sinus and allergy tablets.

A: Midol 12 hour relief, Goody’s Headache powders, and sinus and allergy meds. For those of you aren’t familiar with them, Goody’s are pretty much crushed Tylenol or Aspirin. They don’t take as long to work as the others, if you can get past the taste!

Q: Which medical plan is the right Medical Plan for someone in my demographics?
After visiting a couple of online sites, I am more confused than ever. I am straight, single, 32 yrs old, never smoked, hardly drink, gym rat, consume a healthy diet man who only visits the doctor 1 or 2 times a year (usually to check up on allergies medication and annual physicals). I was looking at Anthem Blue Cross and Health Net. Oh and I have a doctor whom I seen for 4 years now and his office accepts BC and Health Net. Which plan should I get….the cheapest one?

A: Go to www.mybenefitsplus.com/rcneumann very affordable plans for someone who doesn’t need to see the doctor very much

Q: What conditions are considered uninsurable?
I’m shopping for private health insurance and I’m concerned I’ll just be denied because of my current health conditions. All I can find basically says that heart conditions and diabetes, as well as “many other conditions” make people uninsurable. I have migraines, for which I take 1 expensive medication on a daily basis and two cheaper ones as needed, allergies requiring 2 daily medications, and reactive hypoglycemia (this one concerns me most being so close to diabetes) with no meds. I also have had a couple injuries, one requiring surgery and physical therapy, and hospitalization for kidney stones within the last year. And those are just the diagnosed issues. Anyone have any idea if these conditions are going to cause me problems with insurance?

A: You need to visit an agent that works with all the major companies in your area. Many conditions may be a decline with any one company but be accepted with another company. The agent can find out what the companies will do in your situation. There is no extra charge using an agent.

The migraines would not be a decline with most companies in my area. However, they may increase the premium to cover the medication or place a rider on the policy. A rider means they’ll accept you but not cover the migraines. The allergies will generally be accepted with an increase in premium unless you smoke; then it will result in a rider or a decline. The hypoglycemia would depend on the severity, control, if the cause is known, and when you were diagnosed. Many companies in my area will decline if the diagnosis has been within one year or if the hypoglycemic episodes are frequent or severe.

Each condition by itself would not prevent you from getting a policy with many companies. However, when all three conditions are taken into consideration it may result in a decline with most companies.

Q: Hey everyone. I will be 4 months pregnant on September 22, 2008.?
I have a nasty cold! It sucks! I was wondering if I can take honey-lemon flavored Halls cough drops? I don’t know, but I need sleep! Yesterday, I took the cheap brand Tylenol. Then, today, I took Tylenol Allergy. I know those are fine because, my doctor gave me a list of safe medications during my pregnancy. I had the worst sore throat, and I gargled with warm water and salt. It actually helped quite well. (Hopefully it will stay that way.) Anyways, I need a stronger thing for this annoying cold! My nasal spray doesn’t work, my nose is so clogged, and I need stronger things! So, that’s why I was wondering if I can use Nasonex, or taking Halls, anything! Please give me advice. I just don’t want to harm my baby. I want to do the most safest things as possible. Thanks!

A: Try Vick’s Vapor Rub. Rub some of that on your chest and make sure it stays uncovered so the vapors can reach your nose. You should be breathing better by morning. Also, keep a humidifier running for a few days. Take some hot steamy showers. Drink plenty of orange juice. Good luck with it.

Q: Will the new DNA spit tests reduce the number of disabled children?
The news today has reported that Walgreen’s drug stores are now offering a DNA test that can tell a person (for a fee) if they are “at risk” ot certain diseases or if they could have allergies to medications. This is being done by the person spiting into something & sending it off to a lab for testing. The cheapest is $79 & i hear the most expensive will be just under $500.

Now to my question:
Will parents-to-be use these types of tests to abort if they don’t like the results?
There will be counselors available on the phone @ no charge to assist people with “problems”.

The media & right-wing conservatives in my town are have a field day with this one.
Does anyone else have a perspective to add to the bottom line?
Could this be beneficial or detrimental to new parents?

A: The test can help parents who are not expecting a disabled child get ready for the extra financial and moral complications. It will be most widely used as an abortion test, though. But people have a right to abort. I don’t like abortion, and would not want my future parter to have one, but its a free country.

Q: how do you get pain medication online without a prescription?
im interested in pain killers only.

links would be great, also i want PERSONAL EXPERIENCES not hearsay

A: Several years ago you could do it…and pay 5 times the drug store price. Today, not a chance.

Q: How do I get prescription pain medication online without a prescription?

A: you don’t because it’s a bad idea

Q: Where can u get lortab or other pain medication online without a prescription or previous prescription?
Just wondering if that is possible since I do not have insurance or a primary physician.

A: Just google it. There are scores of sites online that will sell you “Lortab” or other pain meds without a prescription … trouble is, you don’t know if you’re actually getting what you paid for. Some of the drugs sold that way are fake.

Q: pain medication!!!!! online!!!?
okay i cant afford to go to a doctor. he charges me just for a visit. i heard u can legally buy pain pills online… has anyone ordered pills online and it work?? i dont want anyone to post that isnt answering my question if u knew what i was going through u would do the same

thank you
painmedsonline.net you just answer a few questions and your done but is it legit and legal?

A: Have you checked their list of products offered? If you’re having moderate to severe pain that isn’t related to a muscle spasm, there isn’t a lot there to help you anyway. And if you google their name, it seems obvious that they have scouted around for questions like this everywhere on the internet. They answer with “I buy [insert medication name here] Online without a prescription at PainMedsOnline.Net. http://PainMedsOnline.Net/[insert medication name].php .They are US licensed and Located so you can order [insert medication name] with confidence.” etc.

A place that has to use practices like that to advertise doesn’t sound like the most trustworthy place to order medicines, which you’re going to ingest and rely on to ease your pain. Also, the prices seem wildly inflated. You can go to a local walk-in clinic and explain your situation, and it’s likely the price won’t be too high. With that plus a generic version of the pain medicine, you’ll probably end up spending about the same as you would for the medicine through the internet. It’s under $10 for pills I see priced online for upwards of $40.

Q: Anyone know of any places online where someone can order some pain medication?
Here’s the deal, a friend of mine’s sister just had some major oral surgery. I’m told the dentist is a real @$$hole and would give her anything afterwards for pain. Do you know any places where she can order some Darvocet or Vicodin? She’s in real pain. If not something online any other idea’s. She lives in New Hampshire. Thanks in advance!

A: Your friends sister should seek an attorney, and make a lawsuit that she’s in pain and suffering
The pain is in the mouth, so what I did when I was in pain is brought 2 bottles of Vodka 100% proof tell her do this your NOT gonna drink it this is for the pain and it really worked for me.Fill up half of a cup pour it in your mouth slowly do not swallow take small sips and hold it in your mouth where ever the pain is and hold it there for 15 to 20 seconds then spit it out. Then he or she can watch there mouth after. Try it daily until she gets another dentist or doctor this helps for pain in the mouth.
.

Q: What’s the best online pharmacy to get pain medication?
…and please, I don’t need anybody preaching to me about how this is wrong…that’s the LAST thing I need. My wife has been in pain for weeks and doctors won’t help her so this is my last resort.

A: You really don’t want to do it. The on-line medications come from other countries so you have no idea of exactly what you are getting.
There have been several reported deaths from people taking pain meds bought on the internet.

Here is another idea you may want to consider

Keep a daily journal of your wifes pain condition. Nothing fancy, a notebook works great.
Record where, when, how bad, the pain is. How it is effecting her everyday life. What she can and can’t do because of pain.
Take it with her to the doctor and give it to him to review. It’s hard to think of everything you want the doctor to know when you only have a few minutes so that’s where the journal comes in.

I have a spine injury and have been in a pain management program for years. The journal is something they had me start years ago and it has proven to be very effective.

You may want to find a pain management clinic in your area if you cannot get relieve from your GP.

This may sound weird but smoking pot also is very good for pain, especially nerve pain. I live in California so medical marijuana has been part of my pain management for years.

Q: can I purchase narcotic pain medication from a us online pharmacy?
i suffer from chronic back and neck pain…also have really bad migraines…I just moved to AL and I don’t know when will be able to find a doctor here…I have been on Lortab and Roxicet for almost 10 years and need pain medication every day…

A: it is highly UNLIKELY that you could purchase narcotic pain medication from an online pharmacy.
For one – it is entirely illegal -’
Narcotics are a highly controlled medication-
Even it you could find an online pharmacy to dispense an illegal medication – you really can’t be sure that it would be a pure medication.
A lot of online pharmacies have medications that are ‘adulterated’ with fillers and who know’s what ingredients would be in it.
Be Careful.

Q: Pain medication online?
I finally found a legit company and was prescried hydrocodine. I had faxed a few medical records and my id. The doctor called me that day and forwarded the prescription to the pharmacy. They gave me 90 pills 7/500 with 2 refills I think they only offer c.o.d.

I looked everywhere! Many companies had mixed reviews. From what I know you must have a pre existing condition documented by a doctor somehow.

I was afraid that I would get screwed! But I took one last night, and it did work.

I was impressed with the service and they price wasn’t bad either.

My referal code is REFDUMAIS You get free shipping and after 3 reverrals I get 20.00 off.. Lucy is awsome!!

www.medspriority.com
Just to make sure I just had a pill checked by CVS. They broke it in half, rubbed it on paper and smelled it….? They said from what they can tell it looks good to them ))

A: Thanks for the info… there are people who legitimately need pains meds but have no insurance, so these omline pharmacies if reputable do offer a valuable service. I bookmarked the site and your referral info.

Q: I am looking for on online site where I can order pain medication legally with only a phone consultation. Any?
I am not a drug addict nor do I have any intention of selling anything. I’m just having trouble getting my doctors to treat my pain satisfactorily. They fear malpractice or something. I don’t know, but I need help somehow.

A: Our drug-obsessed society is killing millions every year, please don’t go there!!!

Pain management does not have to include drugs and chemicals, there is a relatively new science which should be able to help. It is four times Nobel Prize winning science with more than 350,000 scientific papers already written about it.

These idiots that sell pain killers online should be hung!

Immediate things to do, daft as it might sound;-
Avoid aspartame and caffeine like the plague.
Drink at least 2 liters of bottled still mineral water per day (anyone who suggests that it is a hype, has no idea what they are talking about).

Get some better advice than you obviously have been.

Take care.

Q: Is it legal to purchase pain medications online that are usually available only by prescription?

A: in the USA its illegal to have on persons any prescription drugs without a prescription and in the bottle that it came in with your name on it.

Q: have u purchased pain medications online?
was it safe and effective? what was the name of the website

A: No, but if done through repudible online pharmacies then it is safe and legal. However, you will need a real prescription from a real doctor. Most pain medications require triplicate prescription forms that are almost impossible to forge/alter or fake. So if you are a junky looking for a fix you may as well go to the corner.

Q: Online physician consultations to obtain a legal prescription for severe back/lower torso pain medication?
Online physician consultations to obtain a legal prescription for severe back/lower torso pain medication?
My occupation requires me to move often, and this makes it nearly impossible to form a full relationship with any medical physician–outside of the Walk-In clinics (which, obviously wary of addicts trying to score an easy ‘fix’ are extremely cautious about handing out prescriptions for pain medications designed for moderate to severe back pain).

I have heard of websites that will allow you to consult with a licensed medical professional and verify the need for such a prescription, but thru my research I have found only two reputable sites (which cost a fortune to join), and the rest are scams. I was born with a condition that has caused my lower spine to form straight, while my upper spine curves inward; worsened by a severe case of pectus excavatum (so severe, in fact, that my strum is only 3 inches from my spine at its closest point). With cosmetic surgery the “whole” in my chest was filled with an 8 pound solid silicon block, and I have continued to grow–standing now at just over six foot six inches.

I do yoga regularly; obtain acupuncture when I can, and do everything in my power to control and contain the pain, but there are several instances (especially when lifting 70+ pounds) when the pain can become so severe I cannot lie down (and therefore do not sleep) but cannot sit up (becoming unable to breathe).

The medications help when such pain becomes unbearable; and I use them not only to numb the pain but also to allow my body to sleep and rest as I continue to treat the symptoms and causes while not having to focus on the pain.

This is a plea for help and the medical industry has refused to help so I am asking PLEASE if there are any sites that would allow such help, or if one could suggest a type of physician that can listen to such a case and understand the history–even when I myself may only live near her/him for just a few months.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for any help!!

Pulled back and in Pain, NC

A: Just so you know, it is illegal (no matter what some web site says) to get a prescription from a person who does not consult and examine you in person. So even if you are talking with a doctor online or phone any prescriptions he writes are illegal. I would say you should get a doctor (a GP is best in this situation) even if it is only for a bit. And take your medical records around with you (you have the right to get a personal physical copy). If you truly need pain meds are have a verifiable reason you should be able to get them. And really sit down with a doctor and explain your situation. Most doctors are good and want to help but they are afraid of drug addicts and loosing their DEA license (but in the regular practice of medicine MD’s never get their DEA pulled).

Good luck

Q: does anyone know any online perscription sites that give pain medications without a perscription?
I know some of the sites have there own doctors, i have very serious health problems i have lost 2 doctors in the last 6 months one went to urgent care seen him for 5 yrs and the other moved his practice out of state,if you need pain meds and call a doctor to become a new patient its like you have the plague they wont talk to you can anyone help!

A: I used to order from overseas 6 years ago. I tryed it recently and got burned and found out later the customs has gotten really hard on them. I now use a pain clinic. They are diferent than regular doctors and usally don’t mind treating pain, It’s there job. I have heard Canada doctors mail them but my guess is big bucks. If you do try an overseas pharmacy e-mail them some questions first to make sure they are even real before you send good money, Lot’s of scams out there. Good Luck

Q: Have u purchased pain medications online?
was it safe and effective..what website did u use

A: i would never order medicine online..i wouldn’t trust it

Q: Are there any sites online where i can find lamaze videos? Or advice on easing labor pain naturally?
I’m heading toward 36 weeks with my third baby. And I’ve never tried lamaze before. Are there any websites that have videos for lamaze? Or really anything to help ease the pain naturally(i never had pain medication with my other labors either). I want this birth to be as uncomplicated as possible since its looking to be the last.

A: I never used special breathing, I breathed normally and tried not to hold my breath or clench/tense my body during contractions. I used head packs on my back and labored in a tub for a lot of my labor. I think vocolizing and having a great support person will really help with the pain I agree that Ina May has great books out there! GOOD LUCK

Q: Does anyone know anything about the medication Tramadol?
I was perscribed 50mg of Tramadol for my migraines. I was wondering if anyone has taken it before and what should I expect (i.e. can I function normally). There are a lot of warnings and so that is why I am curious to find out more about it. Thank you in advance!

A: Tramadol, which is in a class of medication called Opiate Narcotic Analgesics, is used to alleviate moderate to severe pain. Tramadol works by lessening your body`s sense of pain. It is also used in treating pain caused by joint pains, surgery and other chronic conditions such as cancer.

Tramadol works like a narcotic pain reliever. While Tramadol treats moderate to severe pain, Tramadol extended-release works by treating moderate to chronic pain (designed particularly for around-the-clock treatments).

Tramadol can also be used for other purposes when your doctor recommends its use and prescribes it to you.

Q: Tramadol hcl is my new pain medication, but I am having some problems with it.?
I get kind of nauseated and almost sick to my stomach every time I take it, which has been like only, twice. Could I only be adjusting to the medication? It wasn’t as bad as yesterday- I’ve tried their suggestions on the medication side affects sheet. Any advice for me? I don’t want to be sick to my stomach every day! Not only gross, but rather annoying too. Please help!

A: try putting the meds in the middle of a piece of
banana, this should get the them past the stomach

Q: My doc gave me Tramadol for my period cramps will this medication work or do i need something else?
i suffer frm really bad period cramps i need some relief…

A: Tramadol seems a bit extreme for dysmenorrhoea. It can also be habit forming. It’s a bit like morphine. Common side effect is constipation which could exacerbate your pain, but senna could help with this.
Look into Magnesium supplements, Zinc, and Omega 3, there is some research out there that these are beneficial. Also has your doc tried you on hormone contraception, many of our patients have a mirena coil fitted. Obviously last two not options if you are wanting to try for children.

Having said that, Tramadol is a strong pain killer that will definately help your pain. Just not sure it’s a good long term option.

Q: if tramadol is an SSRI, why would they prescribe it as a medication for people in chronic pain?
and then also put the same patient on a second SSRI and an SSI all at once? Are the doctors chemically illiterate and can’t see it’s an OD of serotonin?
why did yahoo post this one question twice?

A: Read Toxdoc’s answer to your previous post.

Q: Any known heart disorders caused by the drug tramadol in recorded use of the medication?

A: Well, Tramadol is part gamma opioid agonist and part SNRI. Because it does have that SNRI component, then it poses the same type risks as other drugs which function as an SNRI. One major complication in regards to the heart would be increased blood pressure and heart rate. This is actually quite common. So if those parameters are not monitored and assessed by the prescribing physician on a regular basis, then a patient could develop heart disease as a result of un-managed high blood pressure.

If you or someone you know is taking tramadol and feel that you are experiencing heart palpitations, irregular heart rhythm or increased heart rhythm, then you need to call the prescribing clinician ASAP and have he or she make a determination as to the risks involved. It may be necessary to change the medication to a more traditional opioid agonist, or if it is vital that the patient remain on the tramadol, then it may be necessary to counter those effects with other medications to treat the high blood pressure.

Q: is tramadol medication stronger than percocets?

A: Tramadol is a unique analgesic. It does have very limited opiate properties, mostly due to its active metabolites. It is chemically an antidepressant (an SNRI). It also has unique anti-inflammatory actions that act differently from NSAID’s (ibuprofen, naproxen, Toradol) and steroids (prednisone, Medrol). It is not a controlled substance in almost every country. Some US states have put the drug under schedule IV control (the same level as Valium, Ambien, Phenobarbital, Darvocet). It has a very small chance of causing abuse and dependence. Yet there are people who are abusing the drug (and the rate is growing). It is very risky to exceed the maximum dose of 400 mg/day because Tramadol often causes seizures at high doses.

Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone (a narcotic) and acetaminophen (aka Paracetamol). All oxycodone drugs are typically used for severe pain. All drugs with oxycodone (Percocet, Percodan, Roxicet, Oxy-IR and OxyContin) are a schedule II drug in the US, schedule I in Canada, and Class A in the United Kingdom. Basically that means that the governments have placed the drug under the highest level of control due to its risk of abuse. Oxycodone is well know for abuse and has become a favourite drug for many. Oxycodone has nearly the same ‘power’ as Morphine. Tramadol is about 10% as strong as Morphine.

Q: medication tramadol 50mgs fast release?
could anyone tell me what is in tramadol as i had an opperation and have been on these tablets for some time now. they make me very nervious and jumpy is there anyone out there who would no what is in these tablets….

A: tramadol
Generic Name: tramadol (TRAM a dol)
Brand Names: Ultram, Ultram ER

What is tramadol?
Tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever.

Tramadol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Tramadol extended-release is used to treat moderate to severe chronic pain when treatment is needed around the clock.

Tramadol may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

What is the most important information I should know about tramadol?
You should not take tramadol if you have ever been addicted to drugs or alcohol.
Seizures (convulsions) have occurred in some people taking tramadol. You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking tramadol if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting.

Take tramadol exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than 300 milligrams of tramadol in one day.

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. A tramadol overdose can be fatal. Overdose symptoms of a tramadol overdose may include drowsiness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, extreme weakness, cold or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma. Tramadol may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Tramadol should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Do not stop using tramadol suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, chills, hallucinations, trouble sleeping, or breathing problems. Talk to your doctor about how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when stopping the medication. Do not crush the tramadol tablet. This medicine is for oral (by mouth) use only. Powder from a crushed tablet should not be inhaled or diluted with liquid and injected into the body. Using this medicine by inhalation or injection can cause life-threatening side effects, overdose, or death.

What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking tramadol?
You should not take tramadol if you have ever been addicted to drugs or alcohol, if you are currently intoxicated (drunk), or if you have recently used any of the following drugs:
alcohol;

narcotic pain medicine;

sedatives or tranquilizers (such as Valium);

medicine for depression or anxiety;

medicine for mental illness (such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia); or

street drugs.

Seizures have occurred in some people taking tramadol. Your risk of a seizure may be higher if you have any of these conditions:

a history of drug or alcohol addiction;

a history of epilepsy or other seizure disorder;

a history of head injury;

a metabolic disorder; or

if you are also taking an antidepressant, muscle relaxer, or medicine for nausea and vomiting.

Talk with your doctor about your individual risk of having a seizure while taking tramadol.

Before taking tramadol, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have:

kidney disease;

liver disease;

a stomach disorder; or

a history of depression, mental illness, or suicide attempt.

If you have any of these conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take tramadol.

FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tramadol may also cause serious or fatal side effects in a newborn if the mother uses the medication during pregnancy or labor. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Tramadol can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Tramadol should not be given to a child younger than 18 years of age.

How should I take tramadol?
Take tramadol exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Do not take more than 300 milligrams of tramadol in one day.

Take this medication with a full glass of water.
Tramadol can be taken with or without food, but take it the same way each time.

Do not crush the tramadol tablet. This medicine is for oral (by mouth) use only. Powder from a crushed tablet should not be inhaled or diluted with liquid and injected into the body. Using this medicine by inhalation or injection can cause life-threatening side effects, overdose, or death. Do not crush, chew, break, or open a controlled-release, delayed-release, or extended-release tablet or capsule. Swallow the pill whole. Breaking or opening the pill may cause too much of the drug to be released at one time.
If you use the tramadol extended-release tablet, the tablet shell may pass into your stools (bowel movements). This is normal and does not mean that you are not receiving enough of the medicine.

Tramadol may be habit-forming. Tell your doctor if you feel the medicine is not working as well in relieving your pain. Do not change your dose without talking to your doctor. Store tramadol at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep track of how many pills have been used from each new bottle of this medicine. Tramadol is a drug of abuse and you should be aware if any person in the household is using this medicine improperly or without a prescription.

What happens if I miss a dose?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. A tramadol overdose can be fatal.
Overdose symptoms may include drowsiness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, extreme weakness, cold or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma.

What should I avoid while taking tramadol?
Do not drink alcohol while you are taking tramadol. Alcohol may cause a dangerous decrease in your breathing when used together with tramadol. Cold or allergy medicine, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety can add to sleepiness caused by tramadol. Tell your doctor if you regularly use any of these other medicines. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.

Tramadol side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using tramadol and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
seizure (convulsions);

a red, blistering, peeling skin rash; or

shallow breathing, weak pulse.

Less serious side effects may include:

dizziness, drowsiness, weakness;

nausea, vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite;

blurred vision;

flushing (redness, warmth, or tingly feeling); or

sleep problems (insomnia).

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect.

What other drugs will affect tramadol?
You may be more likely to have a seizure (convulsions) if you take tramadol while you are using certain other medicines. Do not take tramadol without telling your doctor if you also use any of the following medications:

an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), or selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam); or

an antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil), citalopram (Celexa), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem), fluvoxamine (Luvox), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor); paroxetine (Paxil), or sertraline (Zoloft).

Before taking tramadol, tell your doctor if you also use:

carbamazepine (Tegretol);

warfarin (Coumadin);

digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps);

ketoconazole (Nizoral);

erythromycin (E-Mycin, E.E.S., Ery-Tab);

rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane, Rifater);

St. John’s wort;

quinidine (Quinaglute, Quinadex, Cardioquin, Quinora); or

drugs that make you sleepy (such as cold medicine, other pain medications, muscle relaxants, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety).

This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can interact with tramadol. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

Q: will tramadol interact with neurontin orofacial pain medication?
I have tmj and am takinga 300mg capsule of neurontin to manage pain however I used to take tramadol and it worked swell . Tonight I am going for a sleep study and am in much pain and would like a fair study conducted for sleep apnea so I need to know if I can take tramadol now also to eliminate the pain I am in

A: Tramadol has a fantastic synergy with Neurontin (Gabapentin). Combining these two will provide increased pain relief and there are no adverse reactions with combining these two. There are warnings about Tramadol yes. These are related to Tramadol’s purported SSRI activity. So it would be risky mixing Tramadol with an SSRI antidepressant or with drugs that lower the seizure threshold (eg. Wellbutrin, Elavil etc.). But with Gabapentin, no. There are a lot of benefits to this combination.
As for facial pain medication, I can’t answer that unless you tell me the name of the medication.

Neurontin has a synergy with other opioids like Morphine and Oxycodone as well. Hope this helps. Here are links to some helpful studies done on this combination:
2) http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=16952189
3) http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/502254

Please remember to always verify the information you get here. You can find these studies via Google, by simply typing in “Tramadol” and “Gabapentin”

Q: can you have a reaction to a medication called Tramadol hcl acctamimophen?

A: You can have a reaction to any medication. Even the ones that say reactions are rare.

Q: what’s in Tramadol medication (the ingredients)?

A: Tramadol is a Non-narcotic pain reliever. Works well for some and not for others (just like all pain meds). I prefer it because it works great for me. Tramadol is the active ingredient and sometimes they put in tylenol with it. If yours is just tramadol and your not allergic to tylenol, you could take a tylenol with it and they seem to work better together than either when used alone.

Q: What medication is tramadol?
I was told to use tramadol, when I get the stabbing pains on my right side before and during my periods

A: It is an opioid analgesic (pain killer). It is often called a pseudo-opioid because it only has mild opioid actions and it acts as an antidepressant. It is chemically an SNRI class antidepressant but it also as the mild opioid activity and there are some unique anti-inflammatory actions. It is not a controlled substance although there are have some instances of abuse. It is very good for neuropathic pain (not what you have) and surprisingly very effective for mild- moderate pain. Some people find Tramadol to be more effective than codeine or hydrocodone (Vicodin, Norco, Lortab). I think it is a very impressive drug because it has an extremely low abuse rate and the multiple actions of the drug synergize to become significant.

It does sound like it might be a good drug for you. It is commonly prescribed for an acute problem like yours. You need a prescription for it and I absolutely recommend it. One possible side effect is that it can cause effects similar to an amphetamine. This is a result of the antidepressant actions that increase serotonin and norepinephrine. It can catch a lot of people off guard and Tramadol can also cause sedation.

Q: Help I’m having a medication withdrawal from Tramadol (Ultram)!?
I been up to 600mg a day. What do I do?! I am thinking about going to urgent care today to see if a doctor will help me through these withdrawals.

I work full time. No I can’t do rehab… I’m willing to ween off this medication or take other med’s to help the withdrawal. I just want off this drug.
Thanks guys. So far everyone has been very helpful?

I get it its stupid. If you guys just knew the feeling.

A: Here’s your answer coming from a Vicodin addict 3 years ago. No your not stupid this drug tramadol produces a powerful addictive euphoria. I quit cold turkey without rehab. I did have to take time off work though because you’re going to get flu-like symptoms. You should try to get prescribed an anti depression or anti anxiety Med to help you through. I took Xanax which helped with restless legs, anxiety, and sleep. It also helped with my anger outbursts from withdrawal. Get an anti depressant or get St Johns wort, kava kava, or Valerian root to help with anxiety. Take a vitamin supplement along with Imodium for the terrible diarrhea take as much as needed. Also have access to hot showers, baths, or a hot tub to relax and help achy muscles. Lots of rest I used a herb melatonin for sleep which can be bought at Walmart. Also use a high dose of ibuprofen or aleve for fevers, aches, and chills. The goal is to get to day 4-5 then use vitamin B 6 with L-tryosine for restoring energy. Drink lots of fluids and try to eat when you can also use tums or pepto bismol for upset stomach and acid reflux. Eat bananas for leg cramps and day 6-7 you should start to feel normal so try to get exercise atleast 30 minutes of walking or cardio. After that you completed the physical part now you will have to battle the psychological part of your body craving and relapsing. Tons of will power and support along with prayer get involved with hobbies or friends take your mind off of getting high. Life is so much better without painkillers/muscle relaxers to get through a day. The best thing out of all this advice was Xanax or some type of anti depressant/anti anxiety medication. Best of luck to you! Remember if you relapse you start all over again then I would suggest rehab or counseling. I have been sober from these terrible addictive drugs for 3.5 years and life is so much better even with natural pain which we all have if I can do it so can you!!! Look up the Thomas Recipe which I used for my withdrawal journey out of hell!!!!

Q: ok so i got RA anyone out there have RA and taking percocet or tramadol for the pain i need a new medication?
my pain has worsened and my dr is acting like everything is ok i need new meds and am thinking of a new dr for pain management any suggestions?

A: I have RA too, and I’ve had Tramadol shots and I think they’re wonderful. But if your pain is not being managed, then you need to make someone listen to you. Are you seeing a rheumatologist or just your regular family doctor? If you aren’t seeing a rheumatologist, then I highly recommend you find one. What other meds are you taking? Has your doc put you on Predisone or any similar steroid? You shouldn’t take it forever, but it can really be a big help when you’re hurting and need some immediate relief.

Q: Has anyone taken the medication Tramadol or Ultram though out your entire pregnancy?
I am very well aware that you not to take medication other than Tylenol for pain however I am curious to know if despite that has anyone had to still take this medicine during their pregnancies.

(PLEASE DON’T ANSWER IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO QUOTE THE CATAGORY C INFORMATION AND STATE EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE JUST MENTIONED.)

I would really appreciate people’s personal experiences with this drug. If anyone out there has taken this medication throughout your entire pregnancy can you please tell me about it? How did your pregnancy go? Did it cause any harm to your child? There is not a lot of research on this exact medication during pregnancy through out the entire pregnancy and I wanted to get as much research as possible to gather for myself and others that have been concerned with this.

Thank you very much

A: I was on tramadol/ultram for stomach pain prior to my pregnancy and took it about 5 times after pregnancy because I didn’t know i was pregnant. I told the Dr and he said that they will monitor the baby while i am pregnant and that the risk to my baby will be increased risk of seizures from the use of the meds while pregnant. The way Tramadol works is numbing the nerves in your brain so you can’t feel the pain. The longer you take it the more risk there is to the baby in regards to seizures and brain problems. They aren’t sure how much other problems it can cause but they do know there is increased risk of seizures. Right now I am only 18 wks pregnant so I can’t tell you how this will affect my baby for sure only what the Dr’s have told me repeatedly about the meds. The Dr told me the largest risk is use during first trimester but that there is still a large risk during pregnancy. He showed me some research that had been done recently on Tramadol that shows that babies born after repeated use of Tramadol are more likely to have seizure disorders and other learning problems and some have shown signs of heart problems as well. It isn’t worth the risk.

Q: has anyone taken Tramadol for nightmares? If so, what was your result from this medication.?
I have been given Tramadol by my doctor for problems with nightly nightmares but the medication makes me feel so weighed down like I am falling 100 feet and not stopping.

A: This is a brain drug prescribed by psychiatrist, sure they’ll knock you out but did the doc tell you they are dangerous that you have to have your blood checked allot.probably not,one drug to make you have another problem more money in their pocket, get on an old drug such as Valium, ativan, these will calm you and lights out..good luck

Q: Alternative to Cymbalta?
I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and because I have been suffering from severe depression she wants me to take Cymbalta. When I went to pick up at the pharmacy I almost fainted at the cost! Needless to say I really couldn’t afford it so the pharmacist told me to ask my doctor for some samples. I did find a voucher for a free 30 day supply but I was wondering if anyone has taken anything else for the depression with fibromyalgia that has worked and is maybe a lot cheaper. I am currently taking Naproxen, Tramadol and Gabapentin. Any feedback would be appreciated!

A: cymbalta is an SNRI–look for an older SNRI that has a generic

Q: can I buy allergy medicine over the counter in Madrid?
I’m experiencing some quite bad hayfever at the moment, and I was wondering if I’d be able to buy antihistamines over the counter from a pharmacy? It’s just I’d heard that most spanish pharmacies insist you have a prescription before selling you medication?

A: Most medecines that are over the counter in the US are also over the counter in Spain. I should think for an ordinary strength antihistimine, you should be fine.

The biggest difference between the pharmacies in Spain and in the US, is that in the US, you walk through, and pick out what you need. In Spain, they keep pretty much EVERYTHING behind the counter, and have to service you, but the need for a prescription is pretty similar.

Are you going to be there so long that you can’t just bring along a box?

Q: New Law against Allergy Medication Limits how much you can buy per month How can we get this Law changed ?
I have to take Allergy Meds everyday or I get Sinus infections. I curretly take Wal-it-in D, Walgreens brand of Claritin D. I only buy it when I run out sometimes my son takes it too! Now I go to the Local Walgreens just to find out that I have reached my Limit for the month. So I took other cheaper brand that I had in my med cabinet at home . waited a couple of day till November 1st, and went back only for them to tell me, that I still could not get it. So I sent my wife to get it. The problem is it is too low an amount for some families. so we need to change the law or modifie it some way. A doctors note, Bigger limit for larger Families. And help would be great? It is so frustrating to go get meds you need and have them tell you ,you can have it because you reached your limit. Who do I complain to? How can we do something about this. The pharmasist told me that it’s govenmently regulated. Who do I call? He could not tell me he didn’t know. Please Help me?

A: Some states are restricting access to allergy and cold medications because these medications contain pseudoephedrine, a crucial ingredient in making methamphetamine.

I don’t know what state you live in, but you should be able to buy the pills in gel form. Gel pills aren’t usually included in the ban because they can’t be used to make meth.

My next door neighbor, who is a Registered Nurse, is complaining bitterly about the ban. Actually, she thinks that almost all drugs that are illegal now ought to be legalized. She has some really good arguments that I can’t remember now, but basically she says that most of the problems we have with drugs are related to the fact that they ARE illegal. They are so expensive that people have to steal to get the money and they are produced by criminals, so you have to establish contact with criminals to get them. If the drugs were legal, they could be produced under controlled conditions, would be pure, and would cost only a fraction of what they cost now. Also, the government could tax them and thus get money for drug rehabilitation and education.

I don’t think that these drugs are prohibited in all states, so you might be able to buy they on line.

It is unfortunate that many have to suffer because of a few abusers.
.

Q: Where can I legally buy prescription medications?
I am looking for a reputable site that sells prescription drugs, since I am fairly broke and have no health insurance my requirements are:
No Prescription required, No hidden “doctor consulation fees”, Reasonably priced, Must cover the whole spectrum of pharmaceuticals (ie; controlled substances) Legal would be nice.
I am not looking to sell drugs to school kids!! I simply have a wide range of injuries, allergies, anxieties, etc etc that I have been diagnosed but can not afford to see a physician regularly to obtain the prescriptions, let alone afford to buy these medications every month.
I have done online searches and I am scared to use these, I don’t want to go to jail! If teenagers out there can find these sites and purchase Vicodins and Valiums, why can’t I find them? I *actually* need medication like that for my Bi-Polar disorder, herniated L5 disc, but because I can’t afford it I am left with out treatment, in pain and obviously crazy for posting this question!!

A: RIIIIIIGHT. Can you say DRUG SEEKING?

You can’t buy them LEGALLY without a prescription.

Hello….the DEA is now watching you. You say you can’t afford to go to the doctor to get them legally, but you are ready to go to JAIL to get them illegally?

Explain that one to me?

Q: Can you consume alcohol after taking sinus and allergy pills that contain sudafedrin and antihistimines?
My friend is sick/has been sick for a little while. He bought a generic brand of sinus and allergy medication today (probably something like Actifed), which means active ingredients include sudafedrin and antihistimines. A bunch of us are going out tonight and wanted to know if he can drink while being on that medication. Any advice?

A: I would suggest looking at the medicine and see what the warnings are.

Q: What are the best products for treatment of a flea allergy in cats that you can buy at a store?
I know that i will have to get something that will repel fleas and get rid of them, what would be the best product for that? And also, what is a good topical medication to reduce the itching and and help the hair loss and and scabs?

A: Frontline, or Advantage. Many years ago, when I had my first experience with fleas, we tried to be cheap about it, buying flea shampoos and some cheap brand to put on their necks and neither worked, at all. Frontline and Advantage kick flea butt.

You can get them at this wonderful website (subscribe to get their catalogue in the mail.. has nifty stuff in it!). Just go to the cat section, then the flea & tick section. Their prices are much, much better than what my vet sells them for.

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/

Q: Can you buy medication on line without a prescription or is it against the law?
I get allergies every spring and usually go see my doctor, and every year he prescribes the same medication and it works quite well. Since I know what kind of meds I need can I just buy it online and not have to go see my doc, cause I dont want to pay for the office visit.

A: The federal govt has approved buying up to a 90 days supply of meds online. Heck, even state governments like Minnesota order their meds from Canada. I have used http://www.xlpharmacy-rx.com for years with great results. The send a prescription with your order. The online medical consultation is free.

Q: What is the best medication for allergies that you can buy over the counter?
I need something big time that really works

A: Claritin or Zyrtec. It goes without saying you need to take it every day during your allergy season for it to work.

Benadryl is claritin/zyrtec with more side effects because it is a nonspecific antihistamine. It is a terrible allergy medication. You need to take it a lot more frequently as well.

Of course Flonase is the first line medication (for nasal symptoms) but is prescription

Q: Is it okay to take expired allergy medication?
I usually take Claritin, but I ran out and my mom gave me an old prescription of Clarinex (like 4 years old!), and I dont think it is working….Should I just go buy more unexpired Claritin?

A: You should never take a medication that has expired more than one year ago. Expiration dates are based on drug stability and toxicity. Some drugs simply breakdown and lose their active ingredient as time goes . Other medications slowly change into toxic breakdown forms when not held in the proper storage conditions or after the expiration date. These are all things carefully validated with the manufacturing process and approved by the FDA.

You should go out and buy more Claritin. It is very cheap now. Some stores sell generic bulk pills (50) for $15.

Q: hot rox and allergy med reaction?
i am on singular and clarinex…two allergy medications, i recently bought a gnc suppliment which i havent used yet called HOT ROX….it is an energy booster and a dietary suppliment….on the back of the bottle is says not to use it on medication and one of the medication listed was allergy meds…why is that? if i use it do u honestly think it will be bad for me?

A: Both are central nervous system stimulants. It can be dangerous – people have died that way.
But it just plain sucks if you ask me. Kind of in a panick-y kind of way. Heart beats real fast, sweaty, etc.

Q: What is a good allergy medication besides a perscription for hayfever, pollen, dust, and dander that?
you can buy OVER THE COUNTER? thanks!

A: The best over the counter medication is one that is cheap, non-drowsy, and effective.

loratadine (formerly known as Claritin) is cheap (as low as 3 cents a pill if you dont mind the Chinese import), non-drowsy, and effective for some lucky people. for them it’s the best. it lasts 12-24 hrs

cetirizine (formerly known as Zyrtec) is cheap (as low as 5 cents a pill), very strong, and well tolerated by some lucky people. for them it’s the best. Others get very drowsy from it. It lasts 24 hrs

diphenhydramine (formerly known as Benadryl) is moderate in price and the same stuff is sold as a sleeping pill! It makes driving hazardous and interfers with sports and thinking for more than half of the users. children can get hyper from it. it lasts 4-6 hrs. it’s very popular. go figure.

All of the above are good for itching or a runny nose, but none of the above work for a stuffy nose. for that you need pseudoephedrine (formerly known as the origional Sudafed). it can cause trouble sleeping, raise your blood pressure, make you feel hyper, and/or make your heart race. it works about 6 hours. it used to be over-the-counter but now its under-the-counter (you have to talk to the pharmacist to get it). all the stuffy nose medicines that are now over-the-counter are much less effective than pseudoephedrine. pseudoephedrine should be used temporarily because using it regularly can loose effectiveness, and at the lowest effective dose because side-effects.

All of the above come as liquids as well as pills.

None of the other OTC allergy medications are worth spit, frankly.

Q: I think Allergy medication makes me tired? Its non drowsy! Please HELP!?
a couple weeks ago I went to the E.R because I felt like crap, my ibs was acting up, I was tired, a had sinus pain throat pain and ear pain.
He said i had allergies. He told me to take allergy medication, so I bought some and have ben taking it since, but it says non drowsy and yet I’m always tired.
could this be because of the medication? or is it just my allergies?
or is it ibs related?

I don’t have a fever or anything, im just very tired.

A: It could be both, but I go back to your original visit to the ER. You stated you were tired then, before being on allergy medication, I suppose there is a different underlying cause.

Q: For Allergy sufferers?
What is the best medication you have bought for allergies, I usually buy Aerius, but it doesn’t seem to be working as well this season. any suggestions?? For allergies to pollen, grass etc. Thanks
I saw the neti pot on Oprah, but where can you buy one?

A: it change year to year claritin d did not work for me last year but this year it is….lol so try claritin d

Q: Odd prescription for inner ear infection?
I’ve been feeling off-balance for a few weeks now, and it got really bad a few days ago, so I went to see my doctor. She told me that I have an inner ear infection, and to treat it she prescribed me Nasonex nose spray and told me that I should buy Claritin.
How would these help my inner ear infection go away when they seem to be allergy medications?
Please help, thanks.
I don’t understand how these specific meds will help drain the fluid

A: most ear infections are caused by a virus. however, yours must have a allergic component -hence the antihistamines! Claritin tends to dry up the abundance of fluids in the sinus cavities -Nasonex treats rhinitis. follow up with your doctor in a couple of weeks.
in the future, get your money’s worth when you see the medical professionals -ask these questions BEFORE leaving the office.

Q: Please help me, I seriously feel like kicking my moms a**? I cant take this. ?
I live with my mom and sister, I’m the oldest, Alright well, all my mom does is accuse me of stealing even though I never have. I know how hard it is for her to make money and get things seeings how shes a single mom on her own, we get along for the most part and i’m always 100 % honest with her and she knows it. But I can’t take it anymore. For the past few weeks all she does is accuse me of stealing the things she loses. The other day early in the morning she was looking for her keys. She woke me up and said “ALRIGHT B*TCH, where’s my keys??” I LEFT THEM RIGHT HERE ON THIS FCKING TABLE.” I told her I didn’t know I haven’t seen them and lied back down. She came in 30 minutes saying she found them in her purse where she put them and left. No apology.
After that there was another situation like it, she bought some allergy medication I guess when she was out. The day after she bought it she came into my room yelling at me that I stole them from her, I asked her why I would do that, I dont take pills, and I can’t take those cause of my anxiety, and she KNOWS I cant take them. She looked at me and said “likely excuse” and called me a b*tch and said she wants me out of her house. I told her I didn’t take them and I dont know why she wont believe me, she said “FINE if you didn’t take them then promise on my life you didn’t take them” I said I swear and she said okay. That was a couple days ago, just now I was sitting here on the computer minding my own business and she told me she was taking my little sister out to buy her dinner and I’m not welcome cause I am a thief. I don’t lie to her, I dont steal from her, I dont party hard and do drugs or pop pills I dont do anything to make her think so horribly of me I have always helped her I helped her raise my little sister, and she doesn’t hit me or do anything that can make me call the cops or report her but she is really hurting me and its so frustrating being accused for something I didnt do and being punished for it even though time and time again she has been proved wrong, that im not this liar she makes me out to be I can’t move out yet when I try to talk to her about it she yells at me and says I cant change her mind what can I do to get this to stop cause she wont believe me and I cant keep being called a liar & a theif? I have no other family to live with.. help?

A: write her a personal letter via post office. Tell her all the things you told us and how she falsely accuses you. Tell her that you love her and if she has some issue with you to sit down and talk about what has been bothering her lately. Tell her the home you live in is suppose to be where you feel the most secure. That the outside world is not a safe place. and that your self esteem is not in a good place right now.You sound a little too perfect to me:)
sorry to say that but has to be something mom is bothered about. Was it her decision to be a single parent? If that is the case
well tough ti**y said the kitty. She needs to get over it. If wasnt her decision maybe she needs some monetary help now
Do you work and contribute?
Or do household chores to help her out. Find out what her problem is and go from there
ok

I wish you the best only.

Q: puffy eye allergy medication??????
hi, i was wondering what over the counter products i can buy at shoppers drug mart or anywhere for allergies that are casing my puffy eyes as my doctor is an hour away and i dont have a car to get thier and have no time to go thier and get my doctor changed yet, v heard of allegra but dono if thats over the counter or not.

A: you may have allergies, an antihistamine can help, cool compresses or teabags will assist, preparation H works (yes, believe it or not, just really for under eye puffiness as you don’t want to get it in your eyes) there are also eye drops for people with allergies that have an antihistamine in them, just ask your pharmacist

Q: Is it illegal to buy pain medication from websites on the internet?
I take pain medicine for a condition I have in my head which is call “small vessel disease”. I just want to know if it is legal to buy my pain medicine without a prescriptions. I dont have insurance and it cost a lot to go to the doctor so I thought I could maybe get them on line. Please help me out with this one. Thanks and God Bless

A: Yes it is, if it’s a prescribed controlled substance and it’s also much more expensive. the people you would be buying them from are taking a chance on going to jail (as are you) so they factor in compensation for the occasional bail bond and prison sentence.
There are some web sites that sell what they say is a narcotic medication very cheaply and w/o a script but it’s not what they claim it is. You can end up paying $100 for a bottle of generic baby aspirin or anything they can pass off as oxycodone.
I don’t have insurance and I suffer from chronic pain. I know how difficult this is for you. I don’t know what you’re taking but talk to your doctor about the problem. There may be something cheaper he could prescribe and he may agree to see you quarterly instead of monthly once you’re dosage is stabilized. I played around with my dosage to find the lowest dosage possible that leaves me with an acceptable amount of pain and save $400 a month by doing so. As you probably know, with chronic pain you will never be pain free so don’t shoot for that. Try taking a lower dosage, look for an amount you can take that you can afford that will allow you to have an acceptable quality of life.

You should also check the web site for the company that manufactures the med you take. Some have discount programs and depending on your income may send you coupons allowing you to get free or almost free prescriptions. I know Janssen Pharmaceuticals does this for Duragesic patches and have heard of other labs that do the same with other meds.
Good luck

Q: Where can I buy pain medication online without a prescription?
I am not an addict in anyway. I simply have been sufferring from severe back pain that goes through my hip and down my leg. I have been to the Dr., but can’t afford the MRI needed to find out what the problem is, and do not have any hea;th insurance. I would just like a reliable, safe amount of relief.

A: http://www.medicinelane.com/pain_relief.php

Q: where can I buy pain medication without a prescription in arizona?
is there a safe online website that won’t rip me off? i’m in a lot of pain and this was my last resort it’s just an idea. I hope I don’t offend anyone. I don’t have med ins and i’m really suffering right now. can anyone please help me?

A: Hi Sandi, I’m so sorry you are in so much pain, but diagnosing and prescribing your own pain medication could make you worse. There are pain medications that actually complicate conditions.
No one ever wants to do this, but if you are in that much pain, you must go to your local charity hospital. I’m sorry, because I’ve been to a charity hospital in AZ so I know what you are going to have to deal with, but the experiance may lead you to an answer to getting your pain taken care of. I live in Louisianna and although the enviornment is differant here the conditions are the same and I finally made myself go. Its a good thing that I did, but I waited to long and have caused myself permanant pain. So although it’s gonna be really hard for you to do this, you must. Its honestly the best and only way for your health.

If by chance you have already been there and they treated you as if you were just there for meds, keep going back anyway. They can really tell who is sick and who isn’t. If they continue to treat you badly then every hospital has what is called a Patients Advocate. There is usually one there 24/7, go speak to them and they can help you get the attention that you need and deserve. It is illegal not to treat a patients pain, so if you make a stink without raising “he**” you should get through the system ok.
It is also best to go in the daytime.

Hope something here helps you, I know how awful it is to sit in pain.

Q: Can you actually buy pain medication (vicodin, hydrocodone) online without a prescription & if so where??
I have pain in my left foot due to a snowboarding accident 2 yrs ago. It broke and healed wrong. And now i have pain flares from time to time. If I do a full day of walking, by the end of the day my foot is killing me. My doctor seems to think I am fine. My foot & the pain coming from it disagree. Can anyone help steer me in the right direction???

A: No you can’t do that nor do you want to. The meds on-line often come from different countries that do not have the controls like the FDA. You never really know what you are taking. It’s cheaper and better to just go to the doctor.

http://www.drugs.com/percocet.html

Q: Can i buy pain medication online out of Canada or Mexico?
My concern is getting ripped off….. Money isnt quite an issue just not getting what i need from my medical provider for what i need… paticular trusted sites would be great????

A: You actually have a multi-part question.
First it is technically illegal to buy online from either country, but for the most part it is overlooked by the US if the amount is a 90 day or less.
Second; There is absolutely no guarantee that the website is actually from either place. It could actually be going to China, Nigeria, or who knows where and you are actually getting fakes. These could possible be close to the real thing, they could be old and out of date, they could be total fake and be nothing more than cornstarch, they could even be harmful to you. There is no quality check or control.
Third; They could be stopped by Customs at the border, or possibly not even sent at all.
Fourth; If you are trying to buy controled drugs that need a prescription in the US, but you don’t need the prescription in Canada or Mexico (like percocet) you are opening yourself up to even more. It is still required to have the prescription to have posession here in the US.

One of the big problems for you is if something goes wrong, you get ripped off, you get fake stuff, or anything for that matter who are you going to complain to. You can’t go to any official and tell them you are breaking the law.pp

Q: can i buy pain medication or antibiotics online from canada?

A: yeah u can but beware of frauds!!
all the best

Q: Pain medication without a prescription?
Does anyone know of any way at all to buy pain medication (percocets) without haing to have a presciption for it? ANY HELP AT ALL WITH THIS IS REATL APPRECIATED!!

A: There is no legal way to buy Percs in the U.S. other then with a prescription. If you go south of the border it is another story. But you can’t bring a large amount back so no there’s no way other then finding a nice doctor with a freely flowing prescription pad.

Q: Where can I buy pain meds. online with out a perscription?
I was in a car wreck a few years ago. I messed up my back pretty bad, and Im in almost constant pain. But because of my age its hard to convince a doctor that I need any pain medication. I know you can buy them online with out a prescription, but I need to know exactly where. like a web address. I also want to know if anyone has used a website and had success. thanks

A: The online pharmacies say you don’t need an Rx but as soon as you try to order they will say you need an online or phone consultation w/ thier doctor. and of course that cost money and the meds costs money. might be worth a try in your case. however some of these pharmacies import generic imposter counterfiet pills from overseas that do not have the medication in them. you can try, I was diswayed by the cost.

Q: buying pain medication in vietnam?
does anyone know if I’ll be able to obtain prescription narcotic type pain medication in vietnam. I’ll be traveling around the country for two months. I have a prescriptionI for my chronic ankle pain that I take meds for daily but really don’t want to take a bag full of drugs along if I could obtain them there. thanks for any help.

A: You can buy form the suppliers if you are looking to buy in bulk. You will find the list of the suppliers and their contact details from http://www.themedica.com. You can also send them free inquiry.

Q: What type of Pain Medications can I buy in person over the counter in Canada?
I’m a thirty eight year old male with lower back pain. I operate heavy equipment for a living and I’m a fourteen year volunteer EMT-B for a local Ambulance service.
For several months I have been dealing with this chronic pain and I cannot fit therapy into my schedule during the week. I teach skiing on the weekends to children however I might have to give it all up.
My closest friends give me their own type I & II pain meds when I ask only when needed. I recently had a MRI which stated mild degenerative disk change at L2-3 and L4-5 with minimal disk bulge at L4-5.
How do I convince my very young PA to write me my own prescription without feeling like I’m asking for the world? Do I have any othere options? Any old timer doc’s out there?

A: since you have already gone an mri which showed degenerative disk change, the best option is to go check with your doctor.. pain medications esp OTC ones will only give partial relief and there will be a time that you will come to tolerate them.. a doctor can prescribe better pain medications..

why prolong the agony?

Q: where can i buy pain medications online that ship to canada. In pain and no docter?

A: I believe you still need a doctor because even though they are mail order you still need a prescription.

Q: Do I require prescriptions to buy medication in Cambodia?
When I’ve lived in places like Sri Lanka I’ve been able to purchase whatever I want at the pharmacy, is it like that in Cambodia, or do I need to see a doctor (ie. migraine medication, pain killers – nothing serious)

A: No prescriptions are needed to buy medication in Cambodia.
You may buy all the stuff over the counter.

Q: What are the best online medication without prescription sites?
I recently lost my health insurance. I have a very painful female condition and it requires very powerful pain medication like, Vicodin and Loretab. I wanted to know which are the best online sites to buy medication if you don’t have a prescription? As far as getting the real thing and all? I don’t want to go into this not knowing about the sites that are out there that will rip you off or give you the wrong medication. Thanks:-)
I also have no way of going to the doctor anymore, being that I live in a small mountain town and have no insurance. I have already been diagnosed. I just thought I’d try something before giving up. I don’t qualify for any prescription help either.

A: This isn’t a safe method in any way. Go to your doctor, get a diagnosis and get a prescription for some pain meds. You can get generic brands pretty cheap (I just got a 40 count Lortab 5 script filled, generic brand used for less than 25 bucks). When you go to online pharmacies you really don’t know what you are getting and could end up making things alot worse for you in the long run.
You can also sign up for discounted prescription plans like this one.. http://www.togetherrxaccess.com/home.html it is a free discount program, well worth looking into if you need these meds but can’t afford it. Best part of this is it can be used right away, they give you the numbers and info you need to use, before you get the actual card in the mail.

Q: Has anyone ever purchased pain medication online! Without a perscription? Can you really do that?
I have a cousin who says she buys her narcotic pain meds online!! She says she dosent even need a perscription is that true? Do those places online really let you purchase vicodin and such online with no perscription? Isn’t that illigal? Could she get in trouble?

A: No you can’t do that. If she’s getting her medication online she is doing so illegally unless she has a prescription. Some places will prescribe them with medical records, a phone consult, and a physical exam in your home, but that is extremely expensive. If she’s buying her narcotics online she is just getting them from a mail-order pharmacy and has a prescription or she’s doing it illegally. If she’s doing it illegally, them yes, she’s eventually going to get caught and get in serious trouble with the DEA. Narcotics require prescriptions, period. What she’s getting online may or may not even be real medication, they can be ANYTHING…. I saw a story on Dateline where they sent tablets made out of road paint.

Q: Website to buy medication ( Adderall) legally?
I know there are websites you can go that you can buy things from heart medication to pain pills on that you do need a prescription. You can fill out a form to submit to a doctor and get the medication needed. I take Aderall to help with fatigue from fibromialgia and also from the medication used to treat it. I have insurance and my doctor prescribes this for me but I have a friend without insurance and has ADD pretty bad. She can not even sit down to watch a movie with me. Where can she get Adderal legally online with no prescription?
There are websites that are legal to buy medications without a prescription. The problem is finding one that is legit.

A: Hi Amy:

I don’t know how close your friend is to Mexico, but if she can get there she can buy just about any non-narcotic medicine without a prescription and for a fraction of what she would pay for it in the U.S.

I have used Mexican meds for years and have found they are safe as long as I buy them at a pharmacy I trust.

Mexican Pharmacies will not ship to the U.S., unfortunately.

Q: Where can i find a good cheap pharmacy that sells Soma and tramadol? Without prescription?
indian pharmacies are the best! thanks!

A: dont take tramadol- they dont work and cause ulcers and strokes

Q: where can i find cheap hydrocodone or tramadol online without a prescription? Without having topay a membershi?

A: Be careful buying meds online. There was a tv program, I think it was 60 minutes on a few years ago showing millions of all types of counterfeit pills sold over the internet having none of the ingredients the real pills possess. One such pill they examined was Viagra. It came from China. When they analyzed what was inside of the pills they found it contained Gypsum. That’s whats used to make drywall. Now that would give you a real stiffie.

Q: Where can I find these meds, without paying a fortune n without a precription, they are tramadol n vicoprofen?
I dont want to spend much, I have neck and back pain and the cost of going to a doctor is too much for me. I also cant find this medicine without having a fee charged or something. I take ultram or tramadol but want to find it cheaper, the vicoprofen works best but I dont want to have to pay for the prescription or counseling etc. HELP!!

A: walmart has 4 dollar prescription fills. also call your insurance company as they may know places in your area to fill it.goodluck;)michele

Q: does anyone know any coupon codes for online pharmacies? I am trying to get meds for cheap since its so expens
ultram, tramadol? or anything for pain, that is not illegal!

A: Yep here you go http://www.007coupons.com/Health—Beauty/123Pill-com-Coupons/index.html

Q: Where is the cheapest online place to order tramadol?

A: http://www.medicinelane.com/tramadol.php

Q: where is the cheapest tramadol?

A: You should call your local pharmacies and find out. Prices vary SIGNIFICANTLY for all medications. Sometimes a $50-$75 difference.
If you are talking about finding it online (illegally) I have to warn you. The DEA, FBI and state police narcotics bureau are watching every one of those sites. They will find you. Seriously.

Q: Tramadol hydrochloride capsules 50mg ,legit?
Hi I was searching for cheapest source of tramadol hydrochloride capsules 50mg and i found this,

http://www.pharmacywebsearch.com/search.php?aid=9802&num=10&keyword=tramadol&x=28&y=18

is it legit?

A: No. All it does is search websites in its directory for search terms. These websites will probably mostly be scam ones.

Q: Herbal remedy for withdrawal symptoms? I’m specifically referring to an intense tramadol addiction (opiate).
Some of the symptoms I’ve experienced are a “creepy-crawly” sensation mostly in my legs, inability to sit still yet EXTREMELY lethargic, sweating, depression/anxiety, feeling of desperation, etc…. basically the worst feeling ever!

Is there any sort of (cheap!) non-prescription remedy for these sorts of symptoms?

A: You shouldn’t attempt withdrawal from opiates on your own. A doctor or detox will help you withdraw safely

Q: Unusual Tramadol Withdrawal symtoms and if there is a pill like ceboxin for tramadol out there?
I started taking tramadol about four years ago. At first I was taking two or three a day. Now, I take five batches of 6-7 at a time. The only way for me to keep using is to go down to mexico to guy some since it’s really cheap there. I really want to get off it. I want to so bad but even when i don’t take it for half a day, really strange things started happening. I had oxycontin and vicodin withdrawals before. Nothing comes close to the way tramadol withdrawal feels. It starts with the usual body pains, sweating, aches and sleeping issues. But then it gets really scary for me. I was crossing the street once and next thing I know, my head started feeling really odd. I wanted to stop walking but my legs kept going. It wasn’t listening to what I was saying. On top of that, I twitch so bad that when I sleep, I wake up every few minutes. I kind of do that now. While trying to withdraw, I seriously feel like I’m about to have a seizure which really scares me. I don’t want to be driving or walking and suddenly start seizing. I tried to see if there was something I could take like ceboxin for getting off vicodin but i don’t know if that would work. Vicodin withrawal is a walk in the park compared to my tramadol predicament. I read other people’s symtoms but i never see the same symptoms as mine. Maybe because I take almost up to 40 a day for the past few years. Please help. I want to get off tramadol and it’s not just my will. It’s a physical need that that my body needs.Ii just hope I’m not so far gone that I end up seizing and never wake up. That’s what scares me the most. Thanks in advance.

A: I suggest you see a doctor and ‘come clean’ or check into rehab.

The link below says to call your doctor immediately if you start having seizures:

It also has a poison control center number,
1-800-222-1222,

to call if you overdose.

Q: can I buy tramadol online?
ok, tramadol is NOT a narcotic so, therefore could I order it online and not get into trouble for ordering it, I get tramadol when I go to my doctor back home but i only get a limited amount each time but if i go back i get them, they help my back so much! and it would be so much cheaper to order them online.. are these websites legit on this or will I go to jail if i place an order for some?

A: Well.. I think you better check with your doc if you can use more than the amount he prescribes without hurting yourself..
If your doc has verified that this med is really safe for you
you can save some money if you order meds online, just check the pharmacies very careful before you buy anything.
Here are some tips from my experience with online drugstores.
One thing I know for sure – do not buy anything from a pharmacy that sends spam emails, I know a few guys who been ripped that way, including myself. Also avoid pharmacies that have got well known SCAM products on their product lists (like penis/breast enlargement pills, viagra for women and other questionable “products”) It is a very big chance that their prescription meds are also fake.
When you have found something that looks like a good and trusted pharmacy, check if the pharmacy has got a live support chat or a support phone number. If you have any doubts I suggest to contact the support staff before placing any orders, because if your shipping will be delayed or if there will be any other problems, it is better you have already tested the quality of support they can provide. Also ask the support what are their shipping and refund policies.
http://www.half-price-pharmacy.net probably is one of the cheapest sites online. I never had a need for pain meds , just some ed pills, but I see the site also offers ultram which as far as I know is just another name for tramadol..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramadol
Have ordered a couple times, the meds work ok, just as the ones I can get at Wal Mart. It is from the UK and I feel much better ordering from a British pharmacy than a pharmacy from India or Mexico.
Of course If I were taking a life saving chemical (heart medication, as example) I would want the branded product from my local pharmacy. If it is not life saving get the generic and save 50% or more.

Q: Is it ok to take Tramadol (Ultram) recreationally, as opposed to alcohol, cigarettes and illegal drugs?
I dont drink, smoke or take illegal drugs, i’m 31 years old and in excellent shape physically, however i like to relax with about 200mg of pure Tramadol a day. Given that everyone needs a vice could any one see a problem with long term use of this pain killer. If it makes me a happier, nicer, more loving person, and helps me sleep beautifully what would be the reasons not to take it? I can get 100 50mg generic pills for about £2, so it costs me 8p a day making this the cheapest habit ever. Will i damage myself long term?

A: the long term damage is addiction
liver damage

Q: where is the cheapest and safest place to buy trimodal?
where is the cheapest and safest place to by tramadol

A: you have to google it, but the safest way is to tell your doctor “something” hurts all the time, and get a prescription. I hate to tell you to lie, but if you are in actual pain, you can get a prescription, thats the only truly safe way. I know people that go to online sites and a online doctor writes them a prescription. You can try, just google it, and hey, be careful.

Q: I just got some new sleeping medicine….?
its call tramadol…anyone ever used it?? It was really cheap so im thinking it’s not gonna work, but i was wondering if anyone has ever tried it. only experienced users only! Thanks
sorry ya’ll the medicine is called trazadone, not tramadol

A: Im glad you added that it was trazadone instead of tramadol. I was going to tell you your doctor was stupid… Tramadol is a pain medication. Trazadone is for depression with insomnia. It is good. Give it a couple weeks, if still not sleeping ask your doctor to increase it.

For more information check out: buy cymbalta today!

Q: What are the side effects of drinking alcohol when taking 30mg of cymbalta?
I have been perscribed cymbalta for mild depression , I am a social drinker . I may drink 2 or 3 beers on occasion when we go out with our friends once or twice a month. I was wanting to know how drinking like that would effect the medication.

A: When you get your medicine from the pharmacy, there is an insert in the box that tells you all about the medicine. Read it! In fact, pharmacies have been sending out extra warnings about it. Cymbalta is a very potent antidepressant and can have many side effects, one being sleepiness, another dizziness for ex. There is a warning not to drink for a reason. Alcohol can potentiate any (or all) of the side effects. And just because it didn’t once, doesn’t mean it won’t happen the next time. Also, alcohol is a DEPPRESANT and you are undoing what you are trying to fix!! It is best to avoid it. Stick with acohol-free beer–no one will even know.

Q: How do you get through Cymbalta withdrawal?
Has anyone dealt with Cymbalta (antidepressant) withdrawal? I am going through heck right due withdrawal symptoms of Cymbalta. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the withdrawal side effects easier? i cannot even function because of the way i am feeling. Any ideas?

A: I went through hell when i was on cymbalta 30mg, i only perservered for 3 weeks. I was also taking topamax at 50mg for 4 weeks. It’s been 3 months and i am notthe same person. I now have a tremor which hasnt eased and i am always restless and agitated, as well as only sleeping 5 hours a nite, i also get muscle twitching all over. I still feel suicidal and have never had feelings like this before prior to taking these meds. I had taken ssri’s for many years without any adverse effects. For agitation i use “relaxation tea” which has skullcap, camomile and valerian to calm the nerves. I also use restavit an antihistamine which also helps with sleep, but remember some ppl react adversly to antihistimines. Effexor kept me awake as well, but nothing compared to cymbalta

Q: How long do you feel sick when starting Cymbalta?
I just started taking cymbalta today, and I’m feeling very nauseous, I was wondering how long that side effect lasts?

A: It will probably vary – I don’t recall feeling sick when I started it but when I did, it was in conjunction with Wellbutrin and then slowly took the Wellbutrin away. If it doesn’t stop in a couple weeks, you might want to mention it to your doctor. Also, you might want to consider taking it at night – you might be able to sleep through the nausea then.

Good luck!

Q: Is it okay to take Cymbalta and Voltaren at the same time?
Cymbalta has brought about amazing positive results in my case. I have no bad side effects as with other antidepressants. However, I read that it should not be taken with antiinflamatory medications which I need also.

A: Ask your pharmacist, or just call a pharmacist in the phone book.Trust their answer or a doctors.

Q: i just stopped 30 mg of Cymbalta cold turkey, so how long will the withdrawal symptoms last?
I stopped 30 mg of Cymbalta cold turkey. I’ve been taking it for about 3 months. I’m experiencing dizziness and nausea. How long will the withdrawal symptoms last? Thanks in advance.

A: it will last until its out of your body, but it could last longer.
i wouldn’t stop it without your doctors permission because then the med. can be lowered and your body can get use to it.

Q: How long does it actually take for cymbalta to work?
I have been on cymbalta for six weeks, 4 of those weeks on 60 mgs. When I finally began to feel better, I had a big down, started coming up again and now I feel like crying.

A: I was on Cymbalta too. Had the same experience. My doctor put me on Wellbutrin XL 300mg along with Cymbalta 60mg. That helped the depression. I would tell your doctor. He may do a combination or change your meds all together. But this is common. Some meds work well for some and not so well for others.
Its trial and error until you find the right one for you. Email if you need more help.

Q: How long do Cymbalta withdrawl symptoms last?
Trying to stop Cymbalta after 2 years, Have brain shivers, nausea, tired and weak, cold then hot, shivering. How long can I expect this to last?

A: It is relatively fast metabolizing by today’s standards. It should be out of your system in 24 hours, but that’s when the release starts. Your brain has to reorganize itself, it has to learn to deal with living without the drug. Think of it like you and your wife get a milk shake at Bills Diner, every Friday for 35 years, But Bills suddenly closes. How do you live without that? You’ll have to find something to do Friday. That’s what your brain is doing. And that can take months.

Q: Has anyone had the experience of changing from Effexor-XR to Cymbalta? How did you find it?
I have been taking Effexor-XR (150mg daily) for some years, and my doctor has suggested that i swap over to Cymbalta. I suffer from chronic pain and am on morphine daily, but i’ve read that Cymbalta is also good for reducing pain. Any ideas?

A: Cymbalta can be good for pain, but only sertain types of pain, usually neuropathy from diabetes and it can only help some. It certainly will not have effects like you morphine. Effexor and Cymbalta are in the same class of anti-depressant, so there is a good chance of cymbalta working as well, but not a guarantee.

Q: How do I cope with dry mouth from Cymbalta?
Hi. I take Cymbalta for depression, and its main side effect is dry mouth. I know it can lead to severe dental problems if I don’t take care of it, but I’m not really sure what to do about it.

Does anyone have any advice to help me so my teeth don’t fall out or something?

A: cymbalta is Lilly’s replacement for Prozac when the patent for Prozac ran out.

Cymbalta acts much like Prozac does but carries a much higher risk of liver damage. I would ask your doctor to switch you to a more liver friendly drug, never mind about dry mouth.

Q: Have you tried both cymbalta and paxil? What was the effect your weight?
I am currently on paxil and just gained a bunch of weight but I feel good. My doctor mentioned cymbalta. What we your experience on that in terms of your weight?

A: I have been on cymbalta for a year and a half now…and honestly when I first started taking it I thought it was the best ever! But, almost 2 years later I’m seeing my symptoms return. I haven’t noticed any weight gain or weight loss with just cymblata I am also on adderall so yeah I lost weight but cymbalta was not the reason. Another I noticed right away with cymblata is symptoms of RLS (restless leg syndrome) only when I am trying to rest and when I forget to take it I don’t have that problem. However, Cymbalta could act differently with you. Everyone’s body acts different to medications so it could be right for you.

Q: How long do withdrawal symptoms last when you stop taking Cymbalta?
I recently stopped taking Cymbalta (went from 60mgs. to 30mgs. then stopped altogether). It’s day 4 and I’m having withdrawals like “brain zaps”, electric charges, headache. It’s really affecting my ability to concentrate at work and makes me feel terrible. My doctor recommended that I start taking one every other day for another week and then stop again. Has anyone had a similar experience? Do I just need to wait out the withdrawals? How long do they last?

A: Instead of listening to any doctors, I have done my own “weaning.” I opened the capsule and took took out some of the medication. Each day, I try to take a smaller amount, but when I try to go down too fast, I am sick the next day. I get headaches, nausea, but the worse part is the dizziness. About 2-3 hours before it’s time to take the next pill, I start feeling dizzy again. But it’s something that I can handle. It has been about 10 days of “downsizing” my pill and tomorrow I am not going to take one. I know it’s going to make me sick even though I barely took anything today, but I’m not working tomorrow and I’m hoping to sleep it off.

I do not by any means recommend the every other day. You would essentially be going through detox on the even days and reintroducing the drug on the odd days. I just went through one day of detox and now I’m on my second. It’s awful, but there is no way, after going through the first day, that I would put the drug back into my system, just go through the detox again.

Good luck and don’t plan to do anything during detox. I stayed in bed all day yesterday and now I’m trying to work through it. Yesterday was worse than today and I’m sure tomorrow will be much better than today.

Q: Cymbalta, how long til I start coming down to eath?
I am on my 3rd day of Cymbalta, and I feel like I am on another planet! Have you got experience with this drug? I hate it, I want to be in control again!

A: Within 2 weeks the side effects went away, but then again your dose will probably be upped in 2 weeks so I’d say a month or so & you’ll be back to normal.

Q: What would happen if I drank alcohol while taking Concerta and Cymbalta?
I am currently taking Cymbalta 60 mg and have been for almost 1 year. I am also taking Concerta 17 mg. I have been taking it since March of this year. I am going on a trip soon and will probably be drinking beer. I was wondering if there would be any interactions and if so what they would be. If anyone has any answers I would appreciate knowing!!

A: im taken them 2
only im concerta-57ml
cymbalta-80ml
i dont know!!!

Q: How do you think i’ll react, switch from cymbalta to effexor tabs, anyone on that before?
Tomrrow or thursday, i’ll be switching from cymbalta 60mg to effexor. with cymbalta i have a twitch, and gained around 17 pounds. switching to effexor what do you think will happen? side effects? withdrawal? thanks

A: Effexor is VERY bad! I was on it and it made me become suicidal! It can also make manic episodes really bad! Id tell them to go pound salt if there going to change it on you the side effects are horrible!

Q: What has been your experience on cymbalta?
I was put on cymbalta for treatment of major depression 7 days ago. I have found it to be very helpful so far and am looking forward to more positive results. However I have noticed one thing in particular ( a possible side effect?) that I have a problem with… my labido has gone down the tubes. I was wondering what other peoples experiences were like with this drug?

A: That is a common side effect with SSRI’s like Cymbalta, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, and others. Happens to me with Prozac. If it really bothers you, look into Wellbutrin. It does not have this side effect for most people.

Q: Allergy medication?
I have an allergy to dust and was wondering what the best allergy medication would be. It is a nuisance, I sneeze and I get a runny nose all the time. Any help is appreciated.

A: All of the suggestions here about what allergy meds to use are great. So I just want to add this one thing: If the zyrtec does not work try allegra (doc has to prescribe it). In my son’s case he became immune to the zyrtec after using it for four years. The allegra has worked well for him so far in controlling his dust mite and other environmental allergies. Good luck!

Q: Allergy Medication?
What OTC allergy medication for hay fever is best and available in Canada? I am using Claritin and it’s not very effective..
OTC – Over The Counter

A: Avil ,lorfast , allegra ,

Q: How long between allergy medication can I give a child cold medication?
I gave my boyfriends son allergy medication and he also has a cold I wanted to know when I can give him cold mediation for his cold. He is 5 years old.

A: Call a pharmacist and tell them what medication you gave the child, they know way more about meds than the doctors do, thats what they went to school for.You dont want to give him too much medication and overdose him. Be carefull and call a professional first.

Q: What is the best allergy medication to get?
My boyfriend seems to have allergies all year long but he hates Benedryll because it makes him feel like he’s high and sleep. Lately he’s been having them really bad because of the warm weather with all the pollen in the air plus our cats are shedding and he’s allergic to cats. We didn’t know he was allergic until we got them and we’re not getting rid of them now. He’s is eventually going to go to a doctor about it but for now what is the best allergy medication? Claritin? Zyrtec? What?

A: Claritin is weaker than Zyrtec but less likely to cause drowsiness.
Zyrtec is about as strong as Benadryl and less likely to cause drowsiness than Benadryl, but it does make some ppl drowsy.

If Claritin is too weak and Zyrtec makes you drowsy, you will have to reduce your exposure or suffer until you get a prescription. Nasalcrom is OTC and useful for some ppl, but only if its used 4 times daily so this medication does not make sense for ppl who have allergies for many months of the year. It prevents but does not reverse allergy so you have to use it for a few weeks before you feel the difference, unless you start it before the exposure.

In the meantime consider using a Neil-Med sinus rinse, a HEPA vacuum, washing the cats (or cleaning them with Aller-pet) frequently, keeping the cats out of the bedroom. If you keep the windows closed to keep out the pollen (usually a good idea in spring) you will also trap in the cat allergens, so only do that if you also use a good air filter in your bedroom (like the 3m filtrete or honeywell—never use an air filter that makes ozone, please).

sounds like your bf is a perfect candidate for allergy shots. they are scientific and really work.

Q: What Allergy Medication is the best for spring allergies?
I have recently, with the on set of spring, started having allergy problems which include a feeling in my throat like it is closing. Is there an OTC medication that works better than other and wont make me sleepy?

A: My first thought is claritin but recently my doctor stated that he thinks zyrtec is better. they are both OTC. don’t forget to take it daily if u start, consistency is important. or so says my doc. good luck and have a good easter.

Q: what is the best allergy medication to take if your worst and most common symptom is a headache?
I have a daughter who has very severe headaches. They might even be migraines. Her doctor says it is probably caused by allergy’s. What is the best allergy medication if your only symptom is a headache.
NOTE: Pain relievers alone DO NOT work.

A: i can’t think of a single allergy medication, especially an OTC, that treats headaches. i wasn’t even aware that headaches could be caused by an allergic reaction.
is your doctor sure maybe they aren’t just migraines? migraines can be triggered by certain foods (milk gets me every time) so they may seem like an allergy.

Q: What is the most effective allergy medication for those of you who have allergies?
My allergy symptoms are really bad, so I would like to know which allergy medication works best for you guys?

A: daily my allergies are manageable with Claritin.
when I eat something I shouldnt have or know I am going to be exposed to my allergies I take a benadryl.
When I have sinus pressure and build up I use tylenol sinus pressure and pain. Am and Pm. that stuff works pretty well.

Daily I use the sinus rinse.

I am supposed to have surgery, but dont have the nerve to do it. I am so highly allergic to everything it sucks.

Q: What is a similar allergy medication to Zyrtec, but does not cause drowsiness?
Zyrtec works great for my allergies but it makes me drowsy and even after taking it for almost two weeks i still get drowsy from it, and Zyrtec works the best for me when i take it in the morning. Is there any allergy medication similar to Zyrtec that does not cause drowsiness?

A: claratin… or get a doc to prescribe singulair

Q: Is there an allergy medication that does not cause a problem with urination?
My husband took Allegra D, but it caused his urination to decrease and reduced the flow. Is there another type of allergy medication that does not have this side effect?

A: I would stay away from the Claritin D and Allegra D, perhaps the regular Claritin or Allegra…or try Zyrtec? I don’t know anything for sure but the Decongestant versions seemed to list this as a problem more.

Q: Is it bad to consume a energy drink while on a allergy medication?
I had allergy so i decided to take the allergy medication, but when i got to school, i became drowsy and fatigue so i decided to take in some energy drink so i can wake up and pay attention in class. IS THAT BAD???

A: Very bad. Energy drinks aren’t good for a quick wake up fix. You’d do better with orange juice or multivitamins.

Q: What’s a good replacement for Bromfed allergy medication?
The allergy medication I’ve been taking for years has been discontinued. What would work similarly? I need a strong antihistamine to avoid hives & congestion.

Thanks!

A: Certain herbal and homeopathic remedies have been found to be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of allergies. These remedies are not only much safer to use than the traditional antihistamine drugs but also gentler for the body. Herbs such as Urtica urens and Plantago lanceolata (also known as plantain) contain effective anti-inflammatory and astringent properties and have a long history of treating inflammation, allergies and respiratory complaints.

Quercitin is a highly effective herb that contains antioxidants and helps to boost the immune system and improve circulation while Euphrasia officinalis (Eyebright) maintains eye health and good vision. In addition, homeopathic ingredients such as Allium cepa and Ars. Iod helps to control allergy symptoms such as sneezing, wheezing chest, inflammation in the eyes and irritability.

Q: Allergy medication with both Pseudoephedrine and Diphenhydramine in them?
I have bad Eustachian Tube congestion (ear congestion) during allergy season. A combination of Pseudoephedrine and Diphenhydramine always gets rid of my allergies in a pinch.

Problem is I can’t find Pseudoephedrine OTC anymore…?!?!? Where can I find an OTC medication that has both of these meds in it? Do they make such a thing?

A: Depends on your state. Here in Kansas (stop laughing) the state law says pseudo-ephedrine must be purchased from a pharmacy. You don’t need a Rx but they will ask your for a driver license (verification of name and address) and limit the amount you can buy. You can thank the Meth users for the new regulations. Pseudo-ephedrine is used in making meth.

Q: Can you build up a tolerance to the allergy medication Zyrtec?
I’ve been taking Zyrtec daily since it came out OTC in January, so far it is has been amazing. However I’ve noticed for the past few days it hasn’t been working as effectively as I’m used to. I’m wondering if you can build up a tolerance to this medication? Zyrtec has been the only thing that has worked for my allergies. Claratin is horrible! If anyone has any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

A: you can build tolerance to ANY medication!

Q: should i start taking allergy medication?
I have no idea how to analyse my allergy symptoms, as they have been going on for a while and I’ve become used to them..basically I always have a stuffy nose, irritated eyes, and the like. It’s not too bad, but I’m not certain of what I am allergic to, it could be dust. my symptoms are worse at night time, I can hardly breathe at night. So do you think I should be treated? what medications are there for basic allergies?
so is Claritin is an antihistamine ?

A: You need an antihistamine. Claratyne or Loratadine could help.

Mostly you can buy something from the chemist, but your doctor might prescribe something stronger if it gets really bad.

Q: What allergy medication works the best?
I have really bad allergies. I have tried Zyrtec, Allegra D, Clarinex, Clarinex D, Clartin, etc. They didn’t work at all. Can someone please recommend a medication for me? Thanks.

A: Be it to dust, pollen, sea food or perfumes all of us are allergic to something or the other these days. What is an allergy? Well, to put it simply, allergies are reactions produced by certain materials (called allergens) on our immune system.

When someone allergic to a certain substance, say peanuts for instance, comes in some sort of contact with it his body immediately breaks out in a reaction. Of course, these reactions differ from person to person and from allergen to allergen, however, hives, itchy red blisterish eruptions or trouble with breathing, constant bouts of sneezing, running nose etc. are the most common reactions produced by allergens. Although most of us tend to take allergic reactions lightly they have been known to cause death occasionally and are therefore hardly as innocuous as we consider them to be.

Allergic reactions can be of various types and can affect various parts of the body. Here we list some of the most common allergic reactions which affect us along with the parts of the body it tends to affect;

Eyes – any redness, itchiness, burning sensations and constant watering of the eyes can be a sure shot symptom of an allergy.

Nose – in case of an allergy the mucous membranes in this organ tends to swell causing bouts of sneezing, or flow of water from the nose.

Lungs – Choking sensation, tell-tale signs of asthma.

Ears – inflammation, pain, temporary lack of the capacity to hear etc.

Skin – reddish blister or bumps, hives etc.

Methods of Treatment
Following we list a few common methods of treating allergies
1) For air borne Allergens – medications like nasal sprays, decongestants and antihistamines have known to be effective. Also, eye drops can be used in case of itchiness of the eye.
2) For ingested Allergens – in case of a resultant skin reaction use easily available skin ointments which can be procured over the counter. In case of wheezing, choking etc. antihistamines might come in hand. If ingested material is some sort of food then avoiding it altogether might help.
3) Allergy to insect bites or certain types of drug – Injections of Epinephrine (adrenaline) are known to be helpful.

When using a certain method as a cure however make sure to consult a doctor and obtain some sort of an approval since administering any inappropriate medication might prove fatal for the victim.

Preventing It
Unfortunately allergies cannot be completely prevented, however they can be cured by the administration of the right sort of medication. It is also important for the sufferer to be aware of what material might prove to be a potential allergen for him/her. Keeping away from any such allergen might be the first step towards a healthier life.
